How to Find “The Way” In Your Life When You Seem to Have Lost Your Path:

I’ve been obsessed with Musashi recently and I love his emphasis on “The Way”. Following “The Way” is such a life-changing ideal to have.

I heard Tim Ferriss talk about this idea recently and he had an amazing take on it.

He said that you always know when you are following The Way. It’s not always a fine, measurable line that you can look across and tell whether you’re following.

Many times its just a feeling. It’s a presence.

It’s something you may feel when you accomplish a daily habit/routine that you know is a part of The Way. You’ll just feel it and know, “I’m on The Way”.

This notion of following The Way sounds really cheesy and “woo-woo” but I promise you, once you start thinking about it, it will change your inner self talk and motivation.

I find myself thinking about The Way often now that I have learned more about it and how it can be so motivational.

Rather than having some self-help guru teach you how to be happy and how to accomplish your goals, you should just know that you are following The Way at any given moment.

You may just be going through a day and feeling lazy. You wake up, break your normal routine a bit and then binge watch some movie.

If you can get yourself to pay attention for just 1 moment, you can remind yourself “Am I following The Way?” Am I doing everything in my power to live the life that I want to live. To accomplish the dreams which I have set for myself?

It’s such a quick check and reminder of whether you’re moving your life forward. If you try to follow The Way and constantly remind yourself to question your actions against the goal of following The Way, then you can absolutely change your life.

You can get 10x more productive. You can get to your goals so much faster, you can truly do anything with patience, gratitude and proper motivation.

Are you following The Way?

Life is full of ups and downs. When we fall down we need to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and carry on.

I totally agree!

Life is never bed of roses. We do face problems and difficulties in our life but it doesn't mean that we should stop living. We need to pick ourselves and move on.

What we need is a goal and patience. Enthusiasm and Patience are the key. If we think that things are not going well, then we can resettle... But we gotta think! Most importantly loving thyself no matter what happens.

I agree! Enthusiasm to keep you going, patience as the courage to wait!

Great piece! A reminder to myself first and foremost.

thank you!! I'm glad you got some motivation from it!

Powerful message
Thank you @triptolemus
you can truly do anything with patience, gratitude and proper motivation. In addition to that obedience to the nature of God in us.

Thank you!! Patience and gratitude are key!

That's a cool thought. I see that some people here are associating "the way" with the ups and downs of life, with the tragic events that come and the way we handle them. I feel that the way is even beyond that. I think that it's just the way we deal with every action that we take. Does this action take me there? Or is it just a blind step?

It really pushes us to think, despite the sad and happy things that may happen. Life is not a casino where we throw our chips and either we lose or win. We can always win, even when we seem to have lost.

Thanks for the inspiring message. I'm lucky to have found it. I'll try to find my Way.

Just like having a progress checker on your path to attain set self goals. One day at a time with consistency our aspirations will surely fall in line. Nice write up.

I agree, 1 foot in front of the other. Make just a bit of progress each day towards your goals and you will surely reach them eventually. Hard work, consistency and determination are key ;) Thank you!

try to follow The Way

I've observed through the years that many 'gurus' build their principle on a biblical citation; yet, stops short of giving credence to the Author.

Here's what Jesus says in John 14:6:

“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Best regards.

Peace.

"The Way" is the definition of "The Tao". The Tao te Ching is one of my favorite books. Such simple morsels of living. Sometimes I lose my way & need a reminder. Lately, I've been trying to remind myself. Let the rhythms of life flow. Follow the way things fall together. Trust the process. Getting myself back on track. Thank you for sharing.
