The secret silver lining I find amidst the Steem nosedive
@alexaventuria
In my eyes the strong decline of the Steem price has always been a blessing in disguise.
The more obvious blessing is that hadn't it been for the slump I would have had an extremely more challenging time in building myself a perfect fundament in terms of SP as well as in terms of leaving some niche-specific footprint with my content.
The content inundation that would have continued to take place with a high Steem price, thus greater user activity, would have made for a minimum visibility of my writings even within the more rarely used "spiritual" and "psychology" tag feed, while at the same time the availability and potential receival of votes would have also been much more scarse.
Our Burning Land.
@minismallholding
To put things into perspective, the area where these fires are raging are New South Wales and Queensland on the east coast of Australia. They are up near the tropics and this time of year is supposed to be their wet season, but their rains have been missing in action for a couple of years now.
I'm in South Australia and our summers are as dry as they come. We are used to getting bushfires as soon as the hot days arrive. We prepare for it with burn offs and cutting back any dried overgrowth (or is that undergrowth?) At the time of sharing that picture we'd just had a day shoot up into the 40s Celsius (that's over 100 Fahrenheit) and were getting fires on the Yorke and Eyre peninsulas which were sending the smell of wood smoke over to Adelaide.

Study Suggests That Planting More Hemp Could Help Maintain Bee Populations
@johnvibes
According to a study published in the journal Biomass and Bioenergy earlier this year, planting more hemp could help to maintain bee populations which have become dangerously low in recent years. The study was conducted by researchers at Colorado State University, who set up harm-free traps for bees at large hemp farms throughout the state. They spent about five days during peak growing season collecting bees from the various farms to see how many were attracted to the hemp crops.

Afterlife Soul Mates - Communing with Spirits - Calling in Angels ~~~ My Birthday Wish 12/17/2019
@elamental
Not everyone is meant to read this entire article, only those that align with certain etheric values who are willing and meant to receive these gifts. Some of you may think that sounds conceded, but if you connect with and absorb the information here, I guarantee that you will not think that.
I have been praying for angels to be sent to me frequently lately. I try to refrain from asking the universe for blessings now unless there is something needed that is truly dire. I found myself in situations where there was so much intense darkness, betrayal, dishonesty, and was having constant negativity thrown at me from almost every angle of my life.
Must Have Tools I CAN’T Garden Without
@gardeningchannel
When it comes to gardening it's important to work smarter and not harder. We want to enjoy oursleves and get the most out of the valubale time we spend in the garden. The right tools for the right job will make all the difference.
🌍 ecoVillage Journal #7: How will we choose who lives in ecoVillage?
@eco-alex
This is a question that a lot of people ask me, and what an important question it is! I see this question in two parts, one is the question of what KIND of people we would choose to live with us in ecoVillage, and the other is which people specifically. To answer the first part, what kind of people would we choose to live with us, the simple answer is a diverse group of people and cultures as possible.. in a word.. DIVERSITY is the name of the game! I find it so interesting to meet people who have totally different background, and ways of doing things.

Heart Attacks Can Be Caused by Heartlessness. Being Heart Centered Is As Important As Having Access to Oxygen.
@ura-soul
If you were to view this planet's society from beyond it's atmosphere, you would see great splendour. However, if you felt and looked more closely you might also notice that there are several terrible epidemics that have plagued the planet for a very long time.
One of them is the mind virus that has people exploiting and enslaving both each other and the animals. This is essentially known as heartlessness because it can only exist where heart is not allowed to engage and bring the needed balance.
Graters & Grovers: Are The Attacks on Thunberg REALLY Warranted?
@riverflows
This is the post I did not want to write. I'm actually a little bit scared that some of the vitriol aimed at Greta might also be aimed at me. We live in such a polarised world that we fail to be civil to each other when faced with something we intensely disagree with. But bear with me, please. Don't just jump into the comments without thinking a little about what I have to say too. In return, I'll definitely listen respectfully to you.
However, I had to write this because the attack on Greta is just getting a little bit ridiculous and I'm trying to work out how I feel about that.
Setting Up for a Continue Cycle Indoor Grow...
@porters
Cannabis is legal to grow here in Canada now and we want to take advantage of that.
Last year we tried a crop in the covered garden but had problems with mold destroying most of our crop.
No more of that! We are going to do our growing in a more controlled environment since we have the perfect set up in our sun room, with a little tweaking!
We have set up the sun room for an indoor garden. Growing lots of fresh greens, some other veggies and herbs - Cannabis included!
Last year we grew up the mothers indoors and got the cuttings to a good size, then when the weather warmed up enough we planted the cuttings outside in the covered garden. With our cool damp weather we had a mold problem.
Solstice Blessings! Dropping in, giving thanks, and a couple wonderful things that entered my field recently
@kennyskitchen
Today is the Winter Solstice, at least for those of us in the northern hemisphere. This is a day that I've found to be wildly powerful in my life, and a time that I always try to take the opportunity to give gratitude, set intentions, and all around just bask in the magic of life.
As most of you know, this year has been somewhat tough for me, and I'm overjoyed to be feeling better now than I have in a long time, to have a clear sense of what's coming next, and to be surprisingly unfazed by the dark days and cold weather (especially after practically skipping winter for the last 4 years).
But What Can One Person Do?
@artemislives
I am often overwhelmed, not just by the suffering and struggle I both witness and feel in the world, but by the day to day of making do as a single mom, running my business, watching the petrol gauge hover around empty most days and endlessly juggling time, fatigue and resources with my desire to grow and do more.
It was into that space that I received a message, a distress call, a couple of weeks ago. Saw Diamond Khin, Director of the Karen Department of Health and Welfare, is my indigenous liaison person for my Organic Frontiers herbal project along the Thai Burmese border.
Solstice Celebrations, In Preparation Of Our ReBirth!
@trucklife-family
Solstice is our time to be still and acknowledge the journey that has brought us to where we are now. Nature is here to guide us as we navigate our way in this world,living in sync with the seasons allows us to re connect with our inner self.
The period between Samhain and Winter Solstice is the darkest time of the year, the days have grown shorter and we have withdrew into ourselves. In doing so we have taken the time to expand our connection with our inner realms. Growing our knowledge and wisdom and readying ourselves for the time when we become more active again.
We Fall, We Fail, We Learn, We Overcome, We Heal.......
@nainaztengra
Life continuously keeps throwing challenges at us. Every one is fighting their own battles at different stages of life. It is all about learning the lessons and progressing. There is nothing like I am stuck up forever in a situation. The stuck up is all only in the mind. If we decide to keep drowning we will for sure drown, but if we decide that we will learn to swim and move ahead, we will surely overcome the obstacles and progress.
Many a times we are stuck up in certain patterns, like that of failed relationships or constant health issues or problems at work place.
