in #trevonjb7 years ago (edited)

On August 1st there will be a hardfork on Bitcoin where everyone who owns their Bitcoin private keys will basically get free bitcoin. I explain further:

Enjoy!

Use my code " TAFzNt " to get 3% off of genesis mining and I will use your code live in one of my live streams

Bitcoin Cash is using the market abbreviation 'BCC'. But Bitconnect allready uses it. What's up with that?

Bitcoin Cash is going to have to change theirs, plain and simple.

Two particles can not share the same space at the same time. It breaks the laws of Physics! 🤓

!!!!!I suppose that would be the case would!!!!

Yeah. As there is no system to record the symbol, Bitcoin cash need to deal with it. First come first serve is the principle currently, so Bitconnect wins the game.

I don't support anyone, except my family. I just do what Bruce Lee did, "absorb what is useful".

Thanks. That was useful.

I have already created a helpful guide to make sure every Bitcoin holder gets the coins that are coming to them right here on Steemit:

The Doubling: A Helpful Guide for BTC Holders to Get ALL the Coins Coming to Them Next Week

Great work @trevonjb for putting together more info on the subject in the video above.

I post regularly about Steemit, Bitcoin and other crypto related material, check out my Steemit page and and follow, and VOTE UP for the FASTEST active news you can run with! :D

Bitcoin users do not need a 3rd party service to split their BTC and BCC on August 1st.

Those who want to obtain both coins in the split only need to hold their own private wallet keys.

Bitcoin in all wallets on the network will be duplicated to the Bitcoin Cash (BCC) network effectively doubling the number of coins held.

Check out my guide if you need information on holding your own Bitcoin and keys.

You can also make your own addresses and private keys using a vanitygen program and even make your own paper wallets like i did https://steemit.com/bitcoin/@bitcoinjake09/easy-simple-solution-to-secure-your-bitcoin-for-upcoming-fork

People arent ready for this

and the best part is, people are panic selling bitcoin when they dont realize theyll be given FREE Bitcoin Cash for holding bitcoin

but thats cool, let them panic sell and feel the regret August 2nd

I really wish I bought in before this last hardfork. It was almost like it was free money getting bitcoin cash.

I'm definitely looking forward to the free coins.

I dig your stuff! I was brand new to steemit and your videos helped a ton. Thanks for taking the time to make these videos :D

yeah they helped me alot too im alrdy making my own videos well practice and setup atm!!! THANKS!!!!!

I have the same testimony. I think Steemit or Dan Larimer should start sending Trevon royalty checks...or maybe a referral code. 😉

kinda sucks selling steem at $1 now hmmmm - dont you think?

I spent most of my bitcoin sadly. I will get like .1 BCC :) Oh well. Still have plenty of cryptocurrency.

Why do people make this hardfork shit super confusing @trevonjb? I've been watching a couple of youtubers and they try and explain it but they make no sense...I think its cause most of them actually don't know themselves smdh...

Actually most youtuber just post without making proper research but @trevonjb getts it better
outstanding post

I agree. @trevonjb is the reason I'm on here, and he is really good at breaking down the crypto world.

People behind Bitcoin Cash are crazy and greedy .. they are trying hard to create panic among Bitcoin users and put the BTC price under pressure , so that they can buy Bitcoin for cheap and make big money in future for themselves.

You're right. That's pretty much what Trevon says in his video. 👍

About to watch the video, you had me at free.

I love the faces you make in your youtube videos so funny lol. Great video as always keep it up.

You have amazing stuff, and it is interesting to watch your videos every day! I hope I can be successful on Steemit like you!

I just came from your youtube channel and I have to say THANK YOU. You truly have the most helpful videos about Steemit. You are the reason I just joined and I look forward to following you.

Congrats on crossing 13000 subs. Ill probably watch the live giveaway for fun because last time I was way behind the live stream. Free BCC will be awesome. Throw it back into Bitcoin. Keep up the good work!

This BitcoinCash is nothing other than a altcoin ...I don t think its going to be worth that much , well 8MB blocksize is nice but still they changed to many things compared to Bitcoin , I would be surprised to see Bitcoincash within the Top10 of Coinmarketcap

Classical music is the good stuff. Makes everything more epic! Even cryptotalk lol! I need to find out the places that I keep my wallets private keys. I have never used a cold wallet, and I don't have a hardware wallet.. Would bitshares work? I feel like it would, but I want to be sure.. And I dont know about all these forks, bitcoin and ethereum will fork again, they will start looking like family trees. Each time they do though, they lose a fraction of what they once were, and one day coins that don't split will be sitting on top of a horde of fractured, forked coins

Subscribed to the channel and active notifications. Trevon James

And nice save on the fake play money, don't feed the IRS fuel haha!!

your expression ..damn dude...subscribed you on youtube

Am I correct in understanding that Bittrex holdings won't reflect the additional coins from the fork?

I guess I'm going to have to get with it and open an account. Free Bitcoin sounds very attractive! By the way, Trevon, you're the reason I'm on Steemit--I joined and followed you after watching your $20 a day video on YT!

Grammar Police: "Thou hast misspelled HARDFORK and typed HADTFORK".

@trevonjb we are all present at the rebirth of Bitcoin. Lets all enjoy this cause after Aug 1st this could either be the reward of a lifetime or a disaster waiting to happen. Enjoy the ride

Thanks for doing what you do Tre! I will be getting my free BTC after a hardfork!

You misspelled hardfork in the title. I still loved the video! Thanks for the update. Hook me up with some steemit!

Didn't know about this yet. I'm going to be informed in the next minutes. Thanks

Do you know if bitcoin cash with work on Exodus wallet and Trezor wallet?

I didn't want to see a hardfork, but at least, we get free coins out of it.

As far as coinbase goes with this hardfork, they're going to pretty much lock down buy/sell of bitcoin. I use coinbase as an exchange for steem. So I am pretty sure I will be able to get etherium on coinbase to stansfer into steemit. But I haven't really heard much talk about that particular situation. What do you think?

Didn't think we were getting a hard fork.

I subscribed to freebitco.in WITH YOUR REFFERAL CODE! and I got a coinbase wallet with your referral code. You promised free BTC!

@trevonjb What offline wallet would you recommend?

thanks!

This is like the biggest thing my group here drills new bitcoin users with.... if you don't control your private keys then you don't control your account. The Bitcoin network has never been hacked. The only current feasible way to hack someones bitcoin is to get access to those keys. With most exchanges you do not have your private keys. So you do not own those bitcoins directly. They are owning them on your behalf.... if someone hacks your computer and is able to get your keys or gets and exchanges keys... they can take that money... if you pick a key... instead of a computer picking it ... if that key is guessable... your money can be taken... exchanges only own the wallet on your behalf on the network... this is why you should make sure your keys to your money are safe... I keep mine encrypted out of reach for my personal wallets

Great points. I will be keeping an eye on your posts from here on out buddy!

Check out my couple posts, I am new to steemit, but veteran crypto trader.
That goes for everyone else too :) Lets help each other learn and advance in the community!

Upvoted and followed!

wow free coins looks like a risk i might have to tank good job

Nice content... your one of my favorite steemers -- catching you on twitter and youtube also.. GO STEEM!!!

No need for ALL this FUD on steemit ♨ @trevonjb BTC held in Exodus wallet is only protection necessary to assure post fork potential coins added to BTC held in wallet. Founder recently made video explanation, TY @boxmining for providing this interview. It s the ruthless exchanges that can't be trusted to provide post fork coin to BTC held on exchange wallet which btw they also so hold the master key as granted users who transferred BTC there. NOTE: Because Exodus can be trusted to do right for their users doesn't mean assurance for competition products. 2nd point which needs to be understood, Post Fork just like a post split stock DOESN'T create FREE coin out of thin air(Ether?) In stock split scenario if a $2400 Stock BTC Inc spilts, then result = 2 shares or coins worth $1200 each ( Nothing of created FREE created, it is done simply because human psychology such that easier to pay $1200 than $2400 so mkt incentive to create BULLishness) Of course Crypto Coins differ, but let me just make up numbers to revisit the ETH/ETC scenario of which BTC fork would most likely resemble. PreFork ETH=200 post fork (or split) 1 ETH worth 185 and 1 ETC worth 15 thus 2 Coins equal same as one coin did before. Back to BTC, one should expect to reduce value of BTC by any post fork value remaining, with result equaling same value as before fork coin addition. Hope this helps some understand and this explanation describes REAL RISK from U (Uncertainty if holding BTC in exchange wallets where they actually hold master key. They'll Keep potential NEW COIN while the BTC value reduces by whatever new coin is worth, resulting in LOSS of value (sometimes called THEFT? Beg My Pard!) Anyway this whole viaBTC is becoming a JOKE as miners who strong-armed this (also support increased block size to 2mb, really don't want to underMINE their own interests! Starting to look like Bitmain a major Chinese mining component and rig manufacturer behind entire push so as to salvage used equipment values or who knows? but support for Soft Fork (which is FAKE because actually hard fork) waning as fast as they created their Bitcoin Cash in first place. Bitmain is the majority owner of viaBTC btw, so there's that too? Still very high probability that the whole post fork split idea will be flushed! Chinese euphoria has turned to circling the drain. Only time will tell? Give me some steemit LOVE people ♨ stay calm, Eyes Open but NO FEAR! Freezing trading in BTC next few days is a GOOD thing.

The first thing I thought of when hearing about this was that the exchange rate for BTC would plummet. I'm amazed that yours is the first comment I've seen in this thread expressing the same idea.

Everyone else seems to be too busy kissing Trevon's arse in the hope he'll throw them some crumbs to see what should be obvious.

True, it was holding very nicely after recovery from flash crash 9 days ago, and rallied strong, so my gut tells me probably ripe for SELL the news type of events when post fork and everything considered normal??? Same for steem possibly? I had bought that when crash low, for different reasons and still want more too, but I watched $27K BTC 10 coins used to buy steem WAY higher like 40-45% higher than it is now so the logic in HOPE it goes back down to 81 cents(I paid 8-9 days ago) just makes NO sense to me? Good luck! and better to keep your steem for counting your steem than to steem it away for chance at less steem than you had to begin with...) ♨

The value of Bitcoin Cash is easy to see. You need to look at it from a FIAT perspective and not from a crypto currency perspective. The word "cash" was probably chosen because it invokes a sense of tangibility in the minds of people who are on the fence about bitcoin. Which would be a smart strategy. It looks to me the plan is to entice more people from FIAT into Bitcoin by creating a currency that exists in between the two. A bridge so to speak for ordinary people to cross. Bitcoin cash will end up being used in brick and mortar stores, via point of sale systems. They needed to do something to compete with Apple Pay, etc. Again, well played.

It's a move into retail. Which is why I will be investing in it.

Great tips! :)

I literally just watched this video on YouTube. LOL...
I'm tryna get on that giveaway tonight. ;)

Nice vid finally have a good understanding of what's happening. I myself probably won't take the risk, but I definitely see the potential in it

Nice video bro, if this so, thats good news for bitcoin holders

As always, excellent info @trevonjb If you don't mind me sharing, I recently found an article that I thought has one of the best explanations about the fork. It's easy to follow, uses simple graphics, and helped my husband and I really understand so many aspects. Let me know what you think about the author's writing.

Checked the link & got more clarity on the topic. Thanks @livingprosperity.

Raises such a question...do I sell at the crest of a wave, or do totally wait for the split and take the risk? I always say why not both, can't wait to watch.

Great post as usual Mr James! And thank you so much for introducing me to the world of Steemit. My account got approved today and I am already hooked!

that amazing if happen
