** Presentation as Original, with HD Quality **

Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is a remaster of the first three Crash Bandicoot titles: Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, and Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped.

The approach taken by Vicarious Visions to N. Sane Trilogy is simple. They polish the graphics and music of these games to HD quality and can be enjoyed by gamers of today's era. But they did not feel the extra touch to the main gameplay.

The game style of the titles presented in N. Sane Trilogy is still the same as the PS1 version. It's just that with the addition of such as can use Coco Bandicoot and Time Attack mode in Crash Bandicoot 1 and 2. There is even a glitch that is still maintained, such as the ability to climb and run at the mine level The High Road and Road to Nowhere.

So is this a bad thing? As an old player, the author did not feel there was something new. But actually the Vicarious Visions step is right. Basically, the early trilogy of Crash Bandicoot is an example of the best platformer game of all time. It still feels to this day.

As before, the controls for Crash and Coco are simple. You can walk, you can jump, you can spin to attack. You just use the skill-skill that these Bandicoot have to survive from brutal levels.

** Difficulty Levels Similar to Original **

Crash Bandicoot is a platformer game, like Super Mario Bros. Like Super Mario Bros too, here Crash can die just because he misplaced, wrong touch, and so forth.

In the past, Naughty Dogs presented creative level designs that sometimes led to sadism. In Slippery Climb in the Crash Bandicoot 1 segment for example, there is a section that requires you to jump up and down with a very fast timing. Missed a bit, you between falling back down and having to ride with difficulty again, or all die.

Then because at that level the checkpoint is also minimal, you also have to repeat it again from a place far enough.
Vicarious Visions restates the "hell" levels in this remastered version. Ready to test mentally the old players, while making screaming new players.

New players who just touch Crash may be surprised. The reason, when the first Crash release, is still fresh in the minds of game players like Super Mario Bros., Sonic, and Battletoads. This level of difficulty is still common. Crash might even be easier than games in the Nintendo era, like Ghosts and Goblin.

But the platformer genre is not as popular as it used to be. Sonic is still trying to survive, but repeatedly the game bombarded with criticism. Similarly, Crash, before this N. Sane Trilogy.
Therefore, it is not surprising that the level of difficulty Crash until the meme material when the release. Modern players may be shocked by the sadism of this platformer-level game design.

But make no mistake, the level design in Crash may sometimes feel fierce. But there is a reason the Vicarious Visions do not tamper with it to make it easier. Naughty Dogs used to make a challenging level, but still fair. As long as you are patient and watch the pattern and timing of the enemies and obstacles, you can also overcome the worst obstacles that can be presented this game.

The level variations are also interesting. There is a simple, where you live forward. Something you have to run from the rock that rolls with the magic to ignore the abyss. There's something you have to be clever and lively to survive in the dark. There's even a race level.

This game will also be kind enough to help you if you die too often. Starting from giving I-I masks to protect you from enemy attacks, always give 4 live if you try again after Game Over, even bring up a checkpoint if you're overwhelmed at some level.

Some of these features are not in the original game, so actually ... this game can be easier for veterans.

** Game Duration **

Saving the origin of one game in N. Sane Trilogy will not take long if you have mastered it. The author could spend the last two islands in the Crash Bandicoot 1 segment in one day.
But each game has collectibles that you can get, ranging from gems, relics, and so forth. Given how challenging some level in this game, trying to achieve 100% complete can take a decent time.

Then remember, the one in N. Sane Trilogy is not just one game only. There are three games here. Gathering 100% of everything in each game can be a challenge that will take up a lot of your time.

So, yes, do not worry. Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy can stay with you for a long duration. As long as you do not give up first, of course.

** Obviously Not Suitable for Platformer's Likes **

With all its advantages, Crash Bandicoot flavored writers fit for some factions: those who like challenges, those who like platformer games (especially because this one genre is now so rarely encountered), as well as Crash fans who have long waited for the good game of the Bandicoot.

Conversely, if you do not like the platformer and easy frustration is not recommended to buy this one game. Most likely you will stop playing after the stuck.

But if you still want to try, let me suggest: Crash Bandicoot 1 remains the most difficult segment of this trilogy. If you stuck, try first jumping to the levels of Crash Bandicoot 2 or Crash Bandicoot 3.

Conclusion

The conclusion of Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy's review is this: it's like playing back the game with Crash in the PS1 era, but with additional visual and HD audio. Additions such as Time Attack mode in the Crash Bandicoot 1 and Crash Bandicoot 2 Crash segments, as well as the option to use Coco in the two games, can give a new twist to veterans.

This game is recommended for fans of Crash, fan of classic platformer genres, or gamers looking for a challenge. But be careful, the difficulties in these games are still as brutal as the original game!
