I have been off wandering in the hills outside of Salinas, California again. Here are some of my more abstract captures (mostly) from the last 24 to 48 hours. I have been away from Steemit for a bit so I thought I better let you all know I am still out here...somewhere.
This tree and its broken neighbor say, "Yo!" The see through knothole became a bit of a theme as you will see as you scroll down.
Scars within scars. This shot fascinates me. Those fine lines bursting out of the ring look like they have been etched and the insect holes are so artistically placed.
Even in its afterlife, this fallen tree is nurturing new life. Those oyster mushrooms kept my attention for quite a while.
I caught this intimate moment...a cross species forbidden dance, of sorts. :D
Here's another see through knothole, as promised. If you look closely that the light part in the middle of the knot, you can catch a glimpse of what is going on on the other side of the tree.
And, because I just can't resist...another gorgeous oak tree. They are so enchanting and I am not easily enchanted by such things so, that's sayin' something! :)

We hiked last weekend and I was obsessing with oyster mushrooms, enjoyed your series, closeness makes things look different. My favourite is scars within scars, still telling its story, an imprint of time. I hope you had a magical Ostara/beginning of Spring. It is so cold here. 💚

I did look up Angry Orchard and I see what you mean. When they start making cider out of acorns I think my pictures could fit the bill perfectly. Thanks for helping me broaden my horizons!
