BNP's Mir Nasir and his son took the nomination papers for the same seat

BNP's central vice chairman Mir Mohammad Nasir Uddin and his son Barrister Mir Helal Uddin collected nomination papers for the contest in the Hathazari seat of Chittagong in the national election.

On Sunday, the nomination papers were collected on behalf of the parents of the Chittagong Divisional Commissioner. Officials of Chittagong district election office said that both of them took the nomination papers from the Chittagong-5 (Hathazari) constituency on behalf of the BNP.

Former Chittagong Metropolitan BNP president and former Mayor of Chittagong City Corporation Mir Nasir is currently the Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the party. And the son of Mir Helal is the central committee member of the team.

Although both of them are expecting BNP's nomination, some leaders of the party will work for the party whom they nominate.

Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin told bdnews24.com, "We both took the nomination papers. The team will work on behalf of whom.
He said, "If you give father (Mir Nasir) to the experience, then he will do it. And if I give some to the young people, then I hope I will get the vote. "

21 candidates nominated for nomination on Sunday

21 candidates of six political parties have taken nomination form in Chittagong for contesting eleven parliamentary elections. Among them, four Awami League, 12 BNP, two from the Islamic Front, one of the buses, one of the BNF and one of the Islamist alliance.

BNP chairperson and former minister Abdullah Al Noman from Chittagong-10 (double-mooring) seat, from BNP's Standing Committee member and sub-minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury Chittagong-10 (Double Mooring) and 11 (Bandar-Patenga) seats, except Mir Nasir and his son, City BNP President Shahadat Hossain, Vice-President Shamsul Alam and General Secretary Abul Hashem Bakker for the contest in Chittagong-9 (Kotwali) constituency Nonayanapatra raised. Apart from the Chittagong-1 (Mirsharai) constituency BNP. Mahbubur Rahman, Chittagong- 12 (Patiya) seats. Rezaul Karim Chowdhury of Chittagong 8 (Chandgaon-Boalkhali) for Awami League, convenor of city-Jubo League in Chittagong-10 (Double Mooring) constituency said. Mohiuddin Bachchu, Chittagong-7 (Rangunia), General Secretary of BMA Chittagong on behalf of Awami League. Faisal Iqbal Chowdhury and Chittagong 10 (double mooring) seats on behalf of Awami League, former minister Afsarul Amin took the nomination papers.

Buses md. Mahinuddin also collected nomination papers for contesting 10 constituencies in Chittagong.

Mohammad Iqbal Hossain of BNF, Chittagong-4 (Sitakunda), Mohammad Araff Hossain, Chittagong-8 (Chandgaon-Boalkhali) seat was nominated for the nomination papers.

Meanwhile, MM Matin of Islamic Front and Chittagong-5 (Hathajari) seats in Chittagong-12 (Patiya) seats, Hefajat Islam and Moinuddin Ruhih of Islami Oikya Jote collected their nomination papers from the office of their own Upazila Nirbahi Officer.
