Dear Steemit friends and followers,
Welcome to my Travel Tip series where I promote some of the most beautiful places, interesting landmarks and impressive architectural sites of my homeland, the Czech Republic.
Today, I have something special for you as I will take you to a very interesting place that is practically unknown to foreign visitors – the Buffalo Farm Smrhov.

Located in the picturesque village of Smrhov, some 16 km (10 mi) outside the very touristy and famous town of Cesky Krumlov in the South Bohemian Region, the Buffalo Farm Smrhov is a large buffalo ranch that offers accommodation to its visitors.
Surrounded by beautiful landscape of the Malse River, the buffalo farm was recently reconstructed, currently offering 3 fully-equipped apartments (for up to 14 people), a swimming pool, jacuzzi, playground for children and much more.
Visitors of the farm can choose from a variety of outdoor activities from cycling and mushroom picking to horseback riding and playing tennis but it comes as no surprise that it’s the buffalos that usually draw most of the guests´ attention.

These majestic mammals used to be native to the country until few centuries ago when they were, sadly, driven to extinction. The animals have been recently reintroduced to the Czech Republic as they are now kept in several locations, including the Smrhov farm, where visitors can watch them grazing on extensive pasturelands.

Yeah. This is awesome! How come we don't find them in travel brochures? Is there anything they hiding from us? @czechglobalhosts
We are hiding many good things from tourists, lol.... That´s why you have to keep on reading my blog:)...
OK. I will.
Those buffalos remind me of a trip to the northwest USA some years ago. There live the last ones in freedom in state or national parks. Those beautiful animals are a really majestic sight.
I am sure you have some fabulous pics from that trip, huh? Feel free to drop one here:).....
No problem ;) That's my favourite buffalo shot from this trip...
I love Bisons! They were almost hunted to extinction out here in Alberta as well. They look like the Plains Bisons we have and can be found at Elk Island National Park.
They sure are magnificant animals!
The buffalo farm in smrhov is a fascinating place, i love animals and i am excited to get to see them in the wild, there is a perfect opportunity to get to see them grazing the the green pasture lands which are sooo beautiful. It’s sad that they were driven to extinction and many other animals are being to driven to extinction while i am writing this. I wanna visit czech and see them . They are called bison in america and are found there too. I don’t think they are found in asia. Thanks for sharing this amazing post and i loved reading it.
A very special trip, this is a very memorable trip if I was there
These buffalos are majestic animals living through the ancient times, we humans have driven many species to extinction but it’s a happy feeling that they are re-introduced to smrhov. They are huge and beautiful animals. Not only the cities of Czech Republic are eye catching but the nature and wildlife too.i would definitely see them when i visit Czech Republic.thank u.

It is a pity the bison and buffalo were so usable. They are magnificent creatures and it would be great to see the huge herds that used to roam Europe and America.

GREAT POST AND ININFORMATIVE
Wow.
This is rely interesting. Domestication the wild.. I had always wonder when I watch documentary over TV broadcasts why can't they domesticate this animals as we have cattle instead of people going into the wild that killing this animals and forcing them into extinctions. THIS WILL HELP CURTAIL THE PROBLEM FACING ANIMAL EXTINCTIONS.
Awesome , it needs time to travel to capture a priceless picture.
