The road ritual for me if I ever travel from the southern part of Nigeria, through its east, heading to west, is to get a treat of “suya” and beer. This is one of the intermittent stops that travelers can look forward to on this 10-hour drive. The different vendors flash their samples of this barbequed meat (usually made from rams) in your face, urging you to eat theirs, and hopefully buy. My friend joked of once he had his fill just “tasting” meats from many sellers and never getting to buy any 😂
I met this young lad who was in the business, urged him to pose for a photograph; he was excited and obliged.
