Located north of the beautiful residential areas of Ipanema and Leblon, this place captivated me from the start.
Apart from the typical bustle of a super active city like Rio de Janeiro, the Botanical Garden offers you a break to observe nature and relax, no matter if you are not interested in knowing the flora and its strange scientific names, I assure you that you will greatly enjoy this beautiful place.
As I read, the origin of this Botanical Garden dates from 1808, and was commissioned by the ruling prince at that time in Brazil: Dom Joâo.
The Botanical Garden of Rio de Janeiro has a huge collection of plants that exceed 8 thousand species, in addition to some animals such as monkeys and fish that live in their spaces. It also has a biological, bibliographic and museological collection.
In the lake of the water lilies there are also fish ...
While walking through the place I found trees of all sizes, and without a doubt this was the largest, so I decided to take a picture with him.
All the photos are mine, taken with a Sony Cyber Shot 7.2 mp digital camera
