Dear Steemians
How you already know, I'm back after 17 months of traveling in 18 different countries.
So let me tell you where I have been:
Thailand
Chiang Mai, Pai, Chiang Rai
The North of Thailand is really nice, it's green and charming. Pai has the most amazing foodmarket!
Laos
Luang Prabang, Vang Vieng, Don Det
Luang Prabang is a charming little old french city. Cool Nightmarket! Vang Vieng is more the Partyplace, but with a nice river to do tubing.
Don Det is the big Island on the 4000 Islands. It's the perfect place to relax and swim in the Mekong.
Cambodia
Siem Riep, Koh ta Kiev
Siem Riep is the most visited place in Cambodia because of the Angkor Wat. It's worth a visit.
Koh Ta Kiev is a Beautiful small Island close to Sihanoukville, all without electricity and streets.
Vietnam
Saigon, Da Lat, Hoi An, Phong Nha, Ninh Binh, Ha Chiang, Hanoi
Vietnam is a amazing country with so many different Things to to and see.
Hoh-Chi-Minh is a crazy scooter City. Hoi An is so Beautiful with the city full of lanterns. Phong Nha has a great Nationalpark with a lot of caves.
And Hanoi is to visit the Ha Long Bay
Indonesia
Bali, Gili Islands
We only went to the most touristy place in Bali, Ubud. Really nice riceterraces.
Singapore
Singapore is a country and only one city. It's the cleanest city in the world.
And there is a lot to see. Specially the Gardens by the bay with the Hotel Marina Bay Sands is the most impressive place.
Colombia
Cartagena, Taganga, Minca, Palomino, La Guajira, Bucaramanga, San Gil, Medellin, Salento, Bogota, Cali
Colombia is a beautiful country with so many different things to do and see. You have nice cities like Cartagena, Medellin, Cali or Bogota and you have a desert La Guajira, or the second biggest Canion Chicamocha and the Beautiful Valle de Cocora close to Salento
Ecuador
Mompiche, Quito, Latacunga, Baños, Cuenca
While I was in Ecuador it was rainy a lot of times, Maybe that's why I didn't like it so much.
Quito is a big big city, but the Quilotoa-Loop an amazing 3-day-hike through the andes.
In Baños you can do all kind of extreme sports like rafting.
Peru
Mancora, Trujillo, Huaraz, Lima, Iquitos, Arequipa, Cusco, Puno
Who is thinking on Peru, the first thin would be Machu Picchu. But Peru has a lot more. For example Huaraz where you can do a lot of beautiful hiking. Or the Amazon. Arequipa is a really nice city with a huge Monastery to visit or hiking in the Colca Canyon. Of course Cuzco is a most do!
Bolivia
Copacabana, La Paz, Sucre, Potosi, Uyuni
The Titicaca Lake is the highest lake in the world on almost 4'000m altitude. And the Isla de sol is so Beautiful in the middle of the lake.
La Paz is so high that walking the hills is not that easy.
Sucre is the capital of Bolivia, a lot of people don't know. It's small and perfect to taking spanish classes.
The most impressive thing I have seen in Bolivia was the Salar de Uyuni. And it's one of the Highlights on my trip.
Chile
San Pedro de Atacama, Valle Elqui, Santiago de Chile, Valparaiso, Pucon, Puerto Varas, Chiloe, Puerto Natales, Punta Arenas
The Atacama desert is the dryest in the world and it's the perfect place to do stargazing.
The Cities in Chile are not the nicest, but for example Pucon is a Beautiful place with a Volcano to hike.
Chiloe is a small Island and good to relax.
I took a ferry from Puerto Montt to Puerto Natales for 4 days. The Nationalpark Torres del Paine is perfect for more day hikes.
Argentina
Ushuaia, El Calafate, El Chalten, El Bolson, Bariloche, Mendoza, Buenos Aires, Iguazu
Argentina is one of the most beautiful countries. Specialy Patagonia is so amazing for hiking.
For example El Chalten is full of nice hikingtrails to the famous Fitzroy.
Or Bariloche has beautiful lakes surrounded by mountains, almost like Switzerland.
I don't like big cities but Buenos Aires is a really nice city, so green with a lot of different neighbourhoods.
The amazing Iguazu Waterfalls you shouldn't miss.
Brazil
Iguassu, Florianopolis, Blumenau, Curitiba, Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro
In Brazil you have a lot of Beaches and a lot of big cities like Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro
I like the Beaches of Florianopolis. And there are some german Towns like Blumenau.
Costa Rica
Costa Rica is one of my favorite countries since 3 years. I was there already 4 times. You have mountains, jungle and a lot of beautiful beaches with a lot of animals.
Guatemala
Tikal, Rio Dulce, Semuc Champey, Antigua, Lago Atitlan, Xela
Guatemala has from jungle to high mountains everything. Also a lot of Volcanos.
Tikal are the most known Maya Ruins in Guatemala and in Semuc Champey you can swim in cristal clear water.
At the Lago Atitlan you can enjoy the lake and the old coultures. From Antigua you can hike the Volcano Acatenango.
Mexico
San Cristobal de las Casas, Palenque, Merida, Valladolid, Holbox, Cancun, Tulum, Bacalar
Mexico is just beautiful, when you are not on the Yucatan Peninsula.
San Cristobal was my favorite place. And in Palenque you have impressive Maya Ruins.
Valladolid is a small city and nicer than Merida.
If you wanna have nice beach and sea, you should go to Holbox.
The touristy places like Cancun and Tulum are not nice and the beaches full of seaweed.
Better you go to Bacalar at the beautiful lagoon.
Cuba
Havana, Viñales, Cienfuegos, Trinidad, Sancti Spiritus, Santa Clara, Cayo Santa Maria, Varadero
Havana is defenetly another world, like in general Cuba. Go and have a look in Havana Centro where the real Cubans life.
Viñales is surrounded with beautiful nature. Trinidad is a nice old city, defenetely you have to visit.
In Santa Clara you will get a lot of history about cuba and Che Guevara.
We also went to Cayo Santa Maria to get a nice beach.
Belize
Caye Caulker
Belize is really small and I only went to Caye Caulker witch is the most famous place.
The slogan Go Slow is real and everything is slow and chill.
You can go snorkeling and swim and just relax
That's it!
Please let me know if you wanna have a blog about a specific country to get more details.
