Vardø is only a small spot in the north-eastern corner of Norway. It is the easternmost city in the country, situated on an arctic island in the Barents Sea, close to the Russian border. People have lived here for a thousand years. At all times, it has been the rich resources of the sea that have given people here a basis of life. The city has a rich history, arts and coastal culture and not least a spectacular Arctic nature.

#2 Desert Botanical Garden: Sonoran Wonder in Phoenix Arizona by @oheyo

The Sonoran Desert stretches from Arizona and California in the USA down Mexico’s Baja coast and throughout the state of Sonora. Despite being a desert environment, this region boasts immense biodiversity and is home to over 1500 species of wildlife and over 2000 types of plants! The DBG is a living homage to the Sonoran region, and visitors will find artfully designed trails thoughtfully curated with all sorts of desert-friendly trees and plants, and inhabited by native animals.

Some years ago I had the honor of being present in the oldest lands in the world and in front of one of the candidates for the seven natural wonders of the world, the highest waterfall on the planet (979 meters), the Angel Falls or Kerepakupai Vená (Deeper Place Waterfall), as it is said in the Pemón language, who are the aboriginal natives of this blessed land located in Canaima National Park, in Venezuela.
