Welcome
Here are some photos I took when I visited vineyards and wineries of southern France back in april. (More to come)
Terres des Templiers
Terre des Templiers, AOC Banyuls, in Banyuls-sur-mer near the beautiful city of Collioure
This place regroup 750 vine growers which grows around 11,000ha of vine.
A 550Hl oak tank which equals to 55,000 liters or 14530 gallons full of Banyuls wine !
A very nice place to visit, if you speak/understand French, then the tour is free. If you need it in a foreign language, then there is a 5€ charge/person [2.50€/person for groups], they explained to us the winemaking process of their particular wines ! But best part was the tasting. We tried about 6 different types of wine and loved all of them. The prices of wine bottles are not low, but still affordable, given the quallity and unique taste of the wine.
The vineyard caracteristics
As you may know or not know, this region is full of steep slopes where vines are planted in terraces a very unique way, where only humans can come and work by hands.
Blue sky, terraces, wine, strongholds facing the sea, what a beautiful place.
After visiting Banyuls you need to go to Collioure a very unique village with a small port and huge old houses made of stone. With feets in the water.
Collioure
Thanks for your time, see you soon for an other trip in France vineyards !
Every photos were shot with a Canon 700D + 18-55 kit lens
