Travel with Vinny#1: Quebec city!

in #travel7 years ago (edited)

Travel with Vinny number uno out of a lot more.

I recently came back home to Montreal from long travels to the west coast of Canada so I took advantage of that to pass by Quebec city which is one of my favorite cities in Canada.

The old part of the city really has an old European feel to it as it was build in the 1600-1800.

Here is a picture of the Chateau Frontenac, a must see around here. This is where the governors of the colony and European royalty use to come stay at, whenever they were visiting the new continent!

They now remade it into a huge 5 star Hotel with more than 600 rooms!

My girlfriend and I adventured ourselves inside with the goal of making it to the last story and after 30 minutes of walking around and trying multiple elevators, we finally made it up to the 18th floor.

Here are some pictures taken from up top.

And here are some ruins from the Old castle, called Chateau St-Louis before they build Chateau Frontenac. It unfortunately caught fire in 1834 and it was a total lost. That is basically the reason why Chateau Frontenac was build.

Here is a picture of what use to be the refrigerator in the castle.

They would filled that hole with ice to keep the whole room cool in the warm months of summer.

Okay guys, that's it for today!
