'Just Around'

A nice day for a coffee in the city. I'm off to buy some groceries before I choose a nice sunny spot. As I enter the store, there is commotion, a drama taking place. The shopkeepers are pulling a woman back in the shop. She tries to run but they keep her tight. By the time I took my camera out, the situation cooled down. The scared woman stole something. It is no way to treat anyone even though she probably did steal some food. The workers are scared of my camera. I tell them it's all going to be online before the end of the day and there's nothing they can do about it. They don't like that one bit. I do. Here I'm keeping my promise.

I walk out to find an old lady begging. Women sitting on the coffee shop terrace give her some change. A lot of this is going on with the economy going south. People are unemployed, the government cares only about themselves and their fat behinds, investors are scarce, taxation huge... A recipe for a disaster that was already served.

In this place, all the benches carry the names of old movies and main roles. I sit at Casablanca all pooped by pigeons. This is, in case you're seriously young and don't know, a really famous movie where that phrase about friendship comes from. "I think this is a beginning of a beautiful friendship." If you haven't watched it, I recommend it.

The flower stand is right in front of me. I'm having a coffee. What a strange morning. I think the easy-going ones count the most. One needs to put behind all the adversities of life and be able to enjoy the moment. Life is flowing around me. I'm enjoying it.

The Precious awaits to take me further down this day. :)

Enjoy your day! :-)

I really like your presentation! After the commotion, you mentioned huge taxation, then here comes relaxation. I like the way you capture and share your emotions. Good job @velimir!

Love your motorcycle travel blog @Velimir
What happened to the lady that stole? Did the cops come?
And nice to see your bike also, I guess it is a Harley?

It is the story of all countries!
Government is busy is making money and people of the state are struggling to get two time food!
No jobs!
No relief!

What people could do? Thiefting etc!

The way this shop keeper is ridiculous!
Woman is a name of respect, we all should respect womens.

Awww what a beautiful day yet so many things had happened. The woman who stole actually had nothing to eat, maybe if she had Steemit she might not have done that. We suffer and wail endlessly but our so called leaders are to busy pilling up wealth whilst the masses wastes away. I wish everyone could have one meal per day maybe so many would seize begging across the streets.

What a beautiful bike you’ve got there

Here’s a song about Australia to brighten up your day

you did a very fun travel, thank you for sharing this post.

I think you enjoyed this day alot.great

a good and useful story

These days I'm getting morew and more the sense that life was made for joy. There are all these distractions that have a spiritual etymology. I really believe that the devil is afraid that we will come to the unity of realizing that we are in fact one big family. One hand washes another.

you have a different spirit @velimir..

@velimir Another adventures journey. Pictures are well captured. Waiting for the next travel series episode.

"You played it for her, Sam. You can play it for me." Often misquoted line from Casablanca.

I had a nice cup of coffee and a piece of pie on a patio that looks very similar recently. I had it all to myself, but it'll be full all day today...

And I've used the 'it'll be on the internet tonight' line a time or two myself. When I see something that pisses me off...

Thanks for the interlude. I appreciate days like that.

It is undoubtedly a beautiful place, to spend a pleasant time.

Wow..motorcycle travel..i like this post..so beautiful..

You had an eventful morning. Casablanca is a great movie. A classic. I get reminded just how old I am in my classroom all the time. I will often make references to movies, songs or other cultural icons from my younger years. The kids look at me like I have two heads as they have never heard of these mysterious things that I speak of. One of my favourite things about Netflix is that kids are watching some of the shows that we grew up on.

The sunny weather that accompanies you can be envied :)
The situation in the store is not good. I think that the woman who stole the food was forced to do so. Unfortunately, some people do not have a way out (either climb into a trash can or steal). This is social inequality. The rich get richer, and the poor become even poorer. People have created a system in which there will always be victims.

The camera is an excellent tool for pacifying people. People are afraid of publicity and therefore quickly calmed down. Especially when you're shooting their work. Although not always. In some countries, even the camera does not save the situation :))
You are right, we all need to enjoy moments of life.
Have a nice day:)

I resteemed it.

Hola @velimir

We should support & take good care of poor & old citizens.

Very nice and a lasson able story

I completely agree with what you said about Croatian government. Its very sad what we have to wittness every day. No wonder so much young people are leaving our beautiful country. We have so much potential but noone recognizes it.
Anyway, great post and have a nice day

you posted one thing very common but just like the common people. where is the difference between you, the educated one who uses his camera to capture the disturbing scene in order to make it in order and the ignorant people. BUT you just identified that government is not bothering about its people but only for themselves. so just tell me how we can eradicate this problem which is waving even in every country of the world.
Let me clear my point now
We all are living in the hub of problems. why? becuase we are experts in finding the problems rather than solving it. You identified a problem but you missed to mention the solution to this problem. how can we help the poor one instead of blaming the Govt, although the government may be faulty. We need to help those poors financially, motivate them for their desires, guide them and assist them in their missions.
they need us not the government. Mind it we make the government. if everyone of use concentrate on helping others instead of blame stories, believe me we shall rise and shine.
In last have a coffee day again
Regards
Hafiz

Hello Velimir!

Your snapshot doesn't really need any further commentary. Informative, up to date and full of emotions!

I'm living already 20 years in a small village between Zagreb and Karlovac, I have quite a good knowledge of the conditions of this still young country,
So I'll add some of my experiences to your article.
The boundless euphoria from the days of the founding of the state Croatia has disappeared from the frightening reality. When my neighbours (all farmers) ask me why I still have hope, my alarm bells are ringing. These people have lost not only their courage, but also their hope. The country cannot compensate for the emigration of young academics in the long term.

The tourist comes, the tourist departs. But the country is still left with its old problems.

p.s.: You are absolutely right about Casablanca. For me, one of the best films of all time.
So, play it again,Sam!

Greetings from the countryside, Wolfram

I really like your presentation!
