Get out there! Leave you're confort zone!

And there I was, in the biggest airport i ever seen in my entire life, totally alone, with a gigantic card box as baggage, without any direct connections, surrounded with people that didn't know how to speak my mother language and I had no clue to speak theirs... But lets goback a little, to the beginning of all this.

I decided to travel solo to Thailand, a few months earlier in the middle of the summer of '17, I had three main reasons for that. The first one, I wanted to cycle in those amazing and wonderfull roads, to do all the famous loops, climb the some of the most steep hills of the world and meet some of the vegan cycling crew that made Chiang Mai in Thailand the Meca to all vegan cyclists.

The second reason is very simple to explain - FOOD - the Thai cousine is one of the best in the world! And they're fruit is rated as triple A.

The third and final reason, I was going trough a little of existential crisis and going to Thailand, getting out of my comfort zone seemed like something that would help me in this department and eventually bring me some answers! (Spoiler alert it did!)

So there I was - we're back to the Airport - feeling overwhelmed like i never felt before, panicking without knowing where to go... All was new to me! "Ok" said to myself, "You're aloud to panic as much you want for the next minutes..." I seated myself down in a airport stool and started browsing my Instagram, just like if I was back to my Home sofa.

Afterwards, with all the calm in the world, I called a taxi, negotiated the price (something sociable acceptable with taxis) and asked to go to Hua Lamphong Railway Station in Bangkok with the intention of buyig a ticket to the night Train to Chiang Mai. Success... As I later learned, in this situations it all comes down to one small victory at the time and this was my first one.

Bangkok got my senses flooded in a second even without getting out of the taxi, all the lights, huge buildings, crazy amounts of traffic that seemed to not obey to any order! I was glad that I wasn't staying there long - how much my mind would change by the end of this adventure is something that still surprises me - . After reaching the Hua Lamphong Railway Station, I decided to control what I could, I had a ticket on the sleeping carriages already, so I took the bicycle out of the box. Finally i was done with that huge monstrous card box.

That process, made me a bit of center of attentions in the train station, I started to be approached by several people, curious about what I was doing. Met a couple from Belgium, that had lived in Portugal for a couple of months. I was already connecting, the conversation kept going until we board. They gave me some really good tips about traveling , Thailand and tough me my first Thai word.

Called it a night and went to figure it out, where was my bunk bed. Going from the cheap seats from the front of the train to the dorm, was a experience by itself. This was my first contact to real Thai people, to the real Thailand. It felt like i was on the role of some adventures book character. This first impressions of Thailand are carved in my soul with much love and its something I will never forget!

After entering into the train dorm, I did find my bunk bed, established myself with the thought that I was going to sleep half way cross the world, that it was my first night in Thailand and that tomorrow the adventure of finding a place to stay in a city that i didn't knew at all, was something that I was going to face.
