Hi steemers! ☀ I would like to tell you how we found ourselves in a mystical place - Sami village.
First of all, I want to talk about who are the Sami. The Sami people (traditionally known as Lapps or Laplanders) is an ancient Finno-Ugric indigenous people of northern Europe, which today encompasses parts of far northern Norway, Sweden, Finland, the Kola Peninsula of Russia, and the border area between south and middle Sweden and Norway.
The number of the Sami in Russia less than two thousand people. Amazing thing that the number of people is about the same during more than one hundred years. Most of the Sami in Russia live in Murmansk region.
My advice to you. You had better leave your skepticism when you are going to your journey to Sami village. Become a person who loves secrets, fairy tales and mystic. And then you'll love Sami village!
The Sami are considered one of the most powerful wizards in the world! Since ancient times they were credited with incredible abilities. They could see the future and know the past, to heal from any disease, able to fly, to control the winds, transform, or simply disappear, if so needed.
Traditional Sami religion was a type of polytheism. The old beliefs are closely connected to the land, animism, and the supernatural.
The only traditional Sami instruments that were sometimes used to accompany yoik are the "fadno" flute (made from reed-like Angelica archangelica stems) and hand drums (frame drums and bowl drums).
We passed through the alley of idols in Sami village. Sami shamans was a conspiracy each of these wooden idols to make wishes come true and to protect from harm. There are four idol elements: Fire; Earth; Water; Air and five enchanted idol: Love, Happiness, Luck, Fate and Health.
On the territory of the village are all kinds of animals. There are a lot of rabbits who live freely here and run right under your feet.
Unfortunately there are those who are kept in cages. Thay are northern foxes and arctic foxes.
But the most amazing thing started when we went outside the village and the indigenous Sami in the national costume began to shout. We stood there for about five minutes, and the man kept shouting and shouting. We did not understand what was happening, but soon heard the hooves of deer.
Then we came to kuvaksa - the home of the Saami, where our friend told us about the origin of the Sami alphabet, about the sacred animals and Sami legends.
It's amazing how the Sami are ancient people in fact! Friends, if you decide to travel beyond the Arctic Circle, don't miss the opportunity to get acquainted with mysterious culture of the Sami people!
