Our class went down to the Ganga yesterday. We did yoga on the beach as locals stared at us then some of us, not me, took a dip in the holy river. Its a special day, Shivariti or something- if you dip yourself three times you get so.ething good for your Karma and a two for one coupon to Red Lobster
Washing your sins away...even if it's metaphorical.
So what do you think you are going to receive? Good karma or the coupon?
P:S- The guy in the last picture has majestic hair!
Thats yogi bear. And i didnt go in. They put dead bodies in that river after they burn rhem. No thanks
I will pay full price at the lobster instead
Having bathed in the holy river you wash away all your sins. So that you are now completely sinless. A good beginning for a new life.
Hmmm, does it truly work?
Does it actually wash away your sins? Without the addition of any detergent?
Sounds too good to be true.
This works if the person believes.
Wow.... i like swiming....
Uh-huh...
Its not
Its Shiva-Ratri ( Ratri : Night). Observed as the night of Shiva. One of the biggest Hindu festivals. Remembering Shiva and chanting prayers, fasting, doing Yoga and meditating.
Devotees of Lord Shiva fast for the whole day and pray for noninjury to others, forgiveness, and the discovery of Shiva.
Om Namah Shivaya (sacred mantra of Shiva).
Its not shivarati or something??? Huh. Wow. I could couldve sworn the official name of the holiday was "shivarati or something". ..My mistake. Thanks for steem-splaining that to me. At least i have the one with Santa Claus right, "chrishmast or whatever."
