What if the travel tag is so popular because people are looking into what their options are since things look a little unstable in the US?
I came to the United States a couple of months ago, partly because I wanted to finally meet this girl whom I plan I take back with me, we had made each other's acquaintance online a few weeks prior to meeting. But I also came to the US running from the presidential election season in my country of residence, the same reason I am leaving the US now.
To some it may seem like the coward thing to do, but I am not staying on an expired visa to make a point that I am brave. As much as I wish I could help you, I don't think I have much to offer physically, much less if I become what you many know as illegal, though it wouldn't be the first time I am called an alien 👽.
This will be Tiffani's first time flying, apparently no one in her family has been on a plane before. I hope I am able to document some one her reactions to cultural differences and bring them to Steemit for your entertainment. We are talking about someone who has never left the South, one of those girls with small town syndrome.
Recently I started doubting myself about taking her to Dominican Republic. I know she should travel so that she has a wider perspective, but I don't know how big of a shock going from Panama City in Florida to Santo Domingo in DR will be for her. I guess only time will tell.
If you are one of those thinking about leaving because you want to study the consequences of this coming election from afar, please don't go to DR, we have enough issues there. I found this video, some dude that calls himself the hobo traveller, has been in a bunch of countries and described DR as a whore house. I thought his description was spot on.
If there were only two places in the world I would too pick DR in a minute, it's heaven and hell.
Try to get some of our people to accept bitcoin while you're down there. Or, at least to use Steemit. It's always a pain to send money down there because nobody uses cryptocurrencies.

I've had the desire to try getting a few merchants to accept crypto. My main concern has been in relation to banks freezing people's assets upon discovering they are dealing with crypto and not allowing them to conduct business with the bank anymore. I've heard a few stories about miners getting frozen for accepting bank transfers and consignments in exchange for bitcoin. I am not sure how things are in this respect lately, I've purposedly stayed away from these dealings trying to protect myself.
Recently I found out the dominican government was hosting some workshops to educate some of their legislators about blockchains so I hope this means the winds are blowing in a more permissive direction.

I have heard of crazier things. But thats crazy, i've been to DR, great place to visit. Truly a wonderful place to visit if you coming from North America.
She's 24. Running away from family. That's why you gotta be good to your children so they don't end up trying to get away from you later on.
I hear you. The price of plane tickets and hotels needs to come down. So does food, and the price to rent a car. It's too difficult to travel or move. I think that is a crying shame.
I've noticed certain differences that seem unnecessary in pricing of plane tickets. Like most of the tickets you'd buy leaving DR are more experensive that those going in, regardless of the fact that the same distance is being travelled.
About general prices being a foreigner, if something doesn't have a price tag then the likelihood is that once the seller notices you are a foreigner they will try to increase the price.
Going to any place you don't know the rules of can be expensive in many ways.

You know...I have heard actually people rumor that dominican means dog of the lord. We are obviously taught differently at school but I wouldn't be surprised. Never heard anyone speak of domination in relation to the name though.
