Bali, Indonesia – is one of the most popular island destination in Southeast Asia.
We went to Bali during the Chinese New Year Holiday last 2017.
Here’s our 4-day itinerary:
Day 1
We traveled from Singapore to Bali via Tigerair which took 2hours and 45 minutes.
We landed Bali 9:55 in the morning which is nice so we can utilise the day for a half day tour.
First, we visit the local coffee plantation where you will be able to taste the local coffee blends, including the most expensive coffee in the world “coffee luwak”.
Here, you can also learn the traditional way to process the coffee bean.
After the coffee tasting, we headed to Taman Ayun Temple.
Taman Ayun literally translates as “beautiful garden”.
Next destination was Beratan Lake. The temple, with the multi-tiered shrines and thatched roofs, floating on the water in front of the beautiful highland backdrop.
Our last destination for Day 1 was Marine Temple of Tanah Lot.
It is one of the famous tourist attractions in Bali. We made sure that we reach there before sunset because it is wide known for its beautiful sunset setting.
The site draws a crowd of tourists who came to witness the temple scene however, it was gloomy on that day and we did not catch the sunset.
Tana Lot Temple is one of Indonesia’s most popular religious attractions and commonly referred to as the “Temple of Rock”.
After a tiring day, we direct go to our hotel. We booked Tijili Hotel.
Tijili Hotel is an art-oriented boutique hotel in Seminyak.
Day 2
Nusa Penida Tour - we had a full day visiting the Nusa Penida Island.
Going to Nusa Penida island from Bali, the easiest way is getting to Sanur Beach. Using public boat, you will reach the island in about 90 minutes. It is best to arrange a ferry boat one day before you leave.
Nusa Penida (West Coast Tour)
When doing a west coast tour, you will visit:
Kelingking Beach
Broken Beach
Angel’s Billabong
Crystal Bay
Kelingking Beach - is a hidden beach on the southwestern coast of the island. You can enjoy one of the most breath-taking views from the top. This unique formation is reminiscent to the T-rex head.
Broken Beach - beautiful natural formation on the coast of the island.
Angel’s Billabong - a 150-meter walk from Broken Beach is a natural infinity pool. It is possible to swim but be warned that people may have been swept out to sea by the powerful waves.
Crystal Bay Nusa Penida - a white sand beach. Since we still got time before we leave the island, we went to this beach to take a dip for an hour.
We left the island at around 4pm and reached Bali at 5:20pm. We headed to our hotel and took some rest before exploring the Seminyak beach at night.
We tried La Pancha at Seminyak beach. It is a great place to watch sunset while sitting on the sand on bean bags with a couple of beer.
Day 3
The first half our Day 3 was Ubud Tour. It is the Bali’s cultural heart and also well known as a flourishing crafts centre.
Ubud Tegenungan Waterfall - one of the best waterfall in Ubud village.
Ubud Tegalalang Rice Terrace - a famous tourist attraction for beautiful rice terraces. A beautiful designed rice filed located on the hill bank.
After the Ubud tour, we headed to Uluwatu Temple. The travel time took 1.5 - 2 hours.
Uluwatu Temple- one of the spectacular Hindu temples with incredible ocean views from its stunning cliff top position.
After we visited the Uluwatu Temple, we headed to Nusa Dua and stayed at Inaya Putri Bali. Nusa Dua is located in South Bali where luxurious hotels can be found.
Day 4
Rest and Relaxation before going back to Singapore.
Inaya Putri Bali – one of Bali’s famed beachfront offers modern hospitality.
Perfect way to spend the last day in Bali, just to dip at the beach and pool and go to resort’s spa.
It was indeed a very memorable experience and of course, Bali has a lot more to offer.
