High Sierra Trail, Sequoia National Park

in #travel6 years ago

One of my favorite hikes in Sequoia National Park California, the High Sierra Trail. Beautiful hike as you will walk along the ridge of the mountain for about 11 miles at a starting elevation of 6000ft and end at 8000ft. Im an avid hiker so itll take me 6.5hrs to get to Bearpaw Meadow with a lunch break. Im more destination oriented when it comes to hiking, but it doesnt stop me from enjoying it every step of the way.

This hike was in the summer, pretty much the best time to go because the trail is pretty much snow the rest of the year.

Made it to Bearpaw Meadow, just set up camp and I fell asleep in my hammock for a couple of hours, I think. I went ahead of my friends and I fell asleep waiting for them. I ended up waking up to a twig snapping sound, like in the scary movies. I peaked out and guess what I saw, not my friends lol.

Just this little guy. He didnt bother me, but he got really close, like 10ft close.

Im just laying there thinking, Im just a Pinata right now. -______-
He eventually walked away, and everything was cool.

Beautiful sights! And the bear, man! That's no Yogi Bear! Btw,How much does that backpack weight?

About 30lbs, I guess, I never actually weighed it.

Wow that's heavy for me!.. Say hello to the bear from me and a big hug too! 😛
