Phrae, a small interesting province, in the North of Thailand

Phrae is a province which acts as the gateway to the northern part of Thailand.

It’s just a small province, but should not be overlooked because there are many interesting places and fascinating things to see.

(I used to present Phrae to you in my old post…, but these are new photos.)

We can say that Phrae is a land of temples and museums with many interesting historical stories.

For example, Wat Hua Khuang which is an interesting ancient temple, there is only this very old pagoda left behind for us to study the history and admire the beauty.

The museum of culture is another interesting place in Phrae.

It is a source of learning and research. It is a connection to Eastern Lanna culture.

It is a historical cultural and arts tourist attraction and the good traditions of the people of Phrae Province.

It preserves folk literature and culture as well.

"Lilit Phra Lo" is a good example of the important folk literature, it has been praised by the club's literature as the pinnacle of literature.

There is an interesting monument of the legend of Phra Lor's love which looks outstanding.

Banmatjai Homemade & Cafe is a small cafe which is a destination for those who are passionate about local crafts, especially the uniqueness of Phrae province that is outstanding in its indigo-dyed fabric.

You can learn to dye the fabric and how to make ceramics as well.

ban means house or home

mat means buddle or tie

jai means heart

I bet you will fall in love with this cafe, for sure.

For me, I think Phrae is suitable for being a tourist destination for relaxation, immersing yourself in the natural atmosphere and learning a lot about the way of life of the local people.
