Maya Bay, One of the Must-Visited Places to See in Thailand

in #travel8 years ago

“Maya Bay” is one of the must-visited places to see in Thailand. It is the most highlight points of Phi Phi Island, in the South of Thailand.

The bay has small crescent-shaped which is surrounded by beautiful limestone cliffs at three sides. The water is crystal clear which allows sunlight to the surface at a reasonable level. The color of the sea is so miracle; we can call it as “emerald green sea”.

The sand at the beach is silky-white and very soft like powder. You can go snorkeling to witness the underwater world which is very wonderful with colorful coral reefs and the exotic and brightly colored fish will be closely around you.

The seashore is very stunning with various trees. You will feel relax with the sound of waves and birds while you are sunbathing on the beach. The smell of the trees and the sea is very incredible.

Come and see it by yourself!

It is beautiful. But to be honest, I enjoy Koh Lanta far more. Less touristic BS and watching even the locals slowly destroy their environment through mismanagement and care only for the $$$ sickened me. The snorkeling was amazing and yeah Maya beach where you swim through a cave to reach is breathtaking to say the least, but watching how they just throw the trash into the water is sad. I even spent about 20 minutes picking up trash and when i brought it onboard to boat to return to mainland and put in a trash bin, the boatman looked at me with disgust, violently grabbed the trash from my hands, and threw it into the see and gave me dirty looks the whole rest of the day. I know it seems Idyllic, but trust me, look a little deeper and its really depressing. Enjoy though, just don't look too deep. But do hike up around to the top of the hill south of town, as the view for sunset is hard to beat. Enjoy and travel on.

I much regret to hear that you had bad impression during your stay at Maya Bay. Most Thai people, in fact, are good hospitality. I do really hope that you plan to come to Maya Bay or other places in Thailand again. You are always welcome!
