VLOG018 | How (not) to freedom camp around Cornwall

in #travel6 years ago

Everyone say a big warm welcome to...

@FIGGY

This week our good friends from Brisbane came to Cornwall. Phil and Jen. They brought their recently converted Ford Transit Camper. And we got to show them all around!

First stop, vegan markets! After a nice long walk down The Gannel river at low tide, we made it to Crantock Beach, which is just a touch south down the coast from Newquay. There we have some lunch and go for a walk further south along the coast to Polly Joke. God this country has some weird names for places!

Then we teach you how to get a parking ticket in Newquay. Essentially, park in the middle of town, go out and get really drunk, then oversleep the allowed parking time and wake up to a nice fresh parking infringement notice just before lunch. KA-CHING!

Phil and Jen ended up doing a couple of days work with us at the building site and we also check out Falmouth. A local fishing village. One of my old friends recently opened a pub venture there so we go to visit him. He is clinically bonkers but a bloody good fella!

Lastly, disaster strikes when we visit Tintagel Castle. Phil has been struggling with back issues for a while now and hasn't been at full time work for months and months and today he really did a number on himself while walking up a massive set of stairs. But back to the castle, we learned this is where King Arthur may have been born... It's a bit of a long shot, and this was most likely a settlement in the Dark Ages, but since then, stories of Merlin the Wizard who lived in the cave have grown and changed to what we hear today. Like a game of Chinese whispers through time.

Thanks again for watching another episode, I really hope you are enjoying our journey and I will see you all again soon!

Hi guys which camera are you guys using

Hi there! It's a pretty basic DSLR. A Nikon D5300. Though I always shoot in manual (sometimes to my demise!) and I use an upscaling method with Sony Vegas in post production. Let me know if you want to know more!

Do you know any editing software which is free to use

I know that if you purchase Sony Vegas for a few months you can keep it on your laptop after the licence expires. I'm pretty sure I've only paid 3 months and had it since March I think...
