Hello peeps!
In this post, I'm going to talk about my visit to Queen Victoria Market (Queen Vic) on Saturday 17th February (1st day of CNY).
The pictures and videos are taken with my Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime.
Queen Vic is a landmark in Melbourne Central Business District, and spans across 17 acres of land (according to wikipedia). I was there and I can vouch for the size of this market :D
This market is divided into 4 sections, namely the general merchandise, dairy product hall, meat & fish hall, and food court.
I spent most of my time in general merchandise area, as the dairy product and meat & fish side did not attract me. What attracted me to this market was the constant cheap prices offered in this market compared to other places. Well, after going through a few stalls over here, not everything is cheap. Have to shop wisely. Besides, this market is a top tourist destination :D so I gotta visit this place. Can't say I've lived in Melbourne without going to Queen Vic :)
If you plan to visit, do come before 2pm on weekends, as most of the stalls will be closed by 3pm. Besides, I heard there is a night market in Queen Vic on Wednesday night :)
Without further ado, below is a general guide on how to get to Queen Vic. If you are anywhere in Melbourne, take a train to Melbourne Central Station. Then, Queen Vic is about 15 minutes walking distance. Once you got out of Melbourne Central, turn right and walk along Elizabeth Street, and then turn left into A'Beckett Street. Finally at the junction, turn right and walk straight up.
This is what I saw upon my arrival in Queen Vic.
Most of the stuffs sold in general merchandise area are typically T-shirts, winter jackets, winter boots, phone accessories, fruits, and veges.
Some plush toys
T-shirts
Personalised signs and plaques :D
3D greeting cards
Profanity T-shirts :D
Very nice wind chimes. Let me know if unable play the video. I set the privacy to "private" in Youtube.
Chinese New Year performance. I could not video as a lot of people are holding up their phones and blocks my view :P
Nutttsss! :D
Cute door deco :D
Had some awesome churros! definitely recommended! It is crunchy yet the sweetness is just right. What's more? It cost only a dollar for a stick :D
Finally ended my visit to Queen Vic with a lunch menu of fish & chips and raw oyster in the food court. Fish & chips were nice, the meat is not over cooked and maintained the tenderness. The raw oyster was good :) I know I didn't like it when I had some in Malaysia, but this one definitely gotta give it a try! The oyster was my friend's treat, so I not sure which stall he bought it from :(
This is the end of my post.
Do give my other post a read if interested:

Looks like a great place to just walk around and soak up the environment. How long were you there for?
It's quite a nice place to kill time :D
I was around there for maybe 3 hours? Was alone at first, walked for about an hour, then meet up friend and walked again.
