The Saddest History In Choson Dynasty And Cheongryeongpo Area

in #travel6 years ago (edited)

It was a second day when we visited Cheongrueongpo Area which was well known for the exile place for Danjong the 6th king.

Danjong was the grandson of the Great King Sejong, as I posted before he invented Korean Alphabet Hanguel.

Danjong was a son of the first son(king Munjong) of King Sejong.
Munjong had a health problem and died young.

His son Danjong succeeded king’s reign at 11 years old.
At that time his uncle wanted to become a king.

Finally king Danjons’s uncle did a coup and seized political power.
King Danjong was sent to the exile in Cheonryeongpo in Gangwondo province far from Seoul.

Chdongreyongpo looked an island of land, even today we needed to take a ship to get there.
Behind of Cheongryeongpo was covered with high mountains and there was no way to get in Cheongryeongpo.

Theres was a stone warning signal "never get closer here"

The reason we went to Cheongryeongpo was for taking photos of flowers of azalea.
They told me the azaleas in cheongryeongpo were so beautiful.
When I heard of the azalea’s beauty in cheongryeongpo, it reminded me the death of King Danjong.

King Danjong was killed in the age of 16 years old by his uncle.

Everybody was busy to take the photos of flowers, meanwhile I walked around the house of King Danjong where he had lived for his last years.

Queen of King Danjong at same age of King Danjong had lived for her all life with courtesy bowing to the direction of cheongryeongpo for dead king Danjong.

So it was the saddest love history in korean history.

The resident place of King Danjong was humble. I took the some photos of house.

There were maneking

There was a stone mannikin for king Danjong.

There I found the interesting thing. The pines leaned slightly to the east.

The east direction was Seoul where his queen had waited for him.

It is really sad that his own uncle killed him. I think when your own blood relation cheated you it was very heart breaking.

Usually I never comment onbut your article is so convincing that I never stop myself to say something about it. You’re doing a great job Man,Keep it up.

Thank you for your comment, guys

Participating is not bad @macobama. Be proud of it :)

That's right! It shouldn't happen to anyone.

Nice write up of the short history @slowwalker truly your post brings value to the community and your photography is wonderful.

It is a good thing to know about the history of King Danjong in Cheongrueongpo and he was a wise King indeed but greed for power by his uncle is like something what is happening to some of the governments now. But I am glad that the place was just pristine in its condition and the mannequins just makes it life-like in there.

Thank you cryptopie.

Was really interesting to read. Actually I got for myself from this post a lot of new information + I did not knew that the pines can lean to one side or another. That is something new and exciting for me.
Such an interesting history, I wish all these things were much more discussed. Thank you for such a great and educational post!

nice pix

nice pics

beautiful

Wonderful photos!!!

Interesting post good work keep it up

wow a very good story @slowwalker looks like you are a person who cares about historic sites, it is very well suited to explore a history and the origin of his kingdom in the past.

Thank you for your words

Nice historical story.
The Hunger andxauest for political powers makes an uncle exile on of his own, too bad. But all the same, power is not a question of what the conscience feel right or wrong but rather what the Hunger and question longs for.

Wow !! The leaning trees are seriously interesting !! Do they still point towards the queen?

And didn't you take the photos of those flowers called azaleas?

You talked so much about them and then didn't even put their photos :(

This is such sad history. But I'm glad I know a little more about this bit of history. The next time I go to Korea, I will be sure to participate in Danjong culture festival to honor him!

The architecture and nature is simply fascinating. It always seems so strange to me as a European.

mutual understanding begins from the understanding of history

I enjoy your travel blog. Well written and great pictures, keep it up @slowwalker

Thank you so much

It is very deep sad that your closer blood relation made the bad history . Your uncle will enjoy the reflected what ever he did bad. Oh friend i dont have to say but say that was very very bad.

Yes, it was so sad and bad history

Well its no surprise...
The kingdoms are built on blood of many...it does not matter whoes blood it is.
Mughal King Orangzaib murdered their own brothers and incarcerated his father.

Oh my god.

That the real story behind all thrones....they are all built upon dead bodies...

@slowwalker, history to remember, culture must be maintained, for a better future.

Definitely right

What an interesting blog, thank you for sharing.

An interesting story about murders within the family. These kind of situations are common in the history of all civilizations. It reminds me of the young pharaoh Tutankhamun of Egypt.

hahaha
Thank you so much

Waaaaawww.... I like this post...

la naturaleza es imprecionante y que hermoso cuando una persona se toma el tiempo para capturar con una camara su belleza

Artistic photographs. I love these things.

@slowmaker indeed it is a very sad story, Sejo had a dirty envy of his nephew and it is curious that he was a wise king. Korea was the centre of intresting dynasties and you are doing a great job letting us know about its history. Congratulations

I love this culture! And that hats looks so funny and amazing! :D
