The King’s Private House and The Marvelous Tree of Juniper.

in #travel7 years ago

Isn’t it strange that King had his own private house in the Palace ?
Yes, there was a king’s private house in the Palace Changdeokgung.

In Choson dynasty, king couldn’t have his own time without interfering by the history recorder.
All of King’s behavior and words must be recorded by the historians. They wrote king’s word on the paper as soon as king spoke and put this paper into the box before this paper being dried.

As a result of this record, Choson dynasty could have the most plenty of record in the world.
It meant that King couldn’t free and personal time, the historian followed and recorded even when King had enjoyed with this loving women.

The historians were so troublesome for Kings in Choson dynasty.
So King made a plot to leaving the historian far away from him as long as possible, while the situation was permitted.

His plan was building a private house in the Palace.
Palace was an official space, but house was not official house.
There would be no reason for the historians to enter into some one’s private house without permission.

King had built the house and didn’t paint the colors on the wall and the pillars like ordinary private house.
King could take a rest in this house without interference of the historians.

Sometimes it was strange why Choson Dynasty having the perfect system had been collapsed.

Anyway Kings of Choson dynasty had escaped from unceasing inference of their subjects. Their choice was the humble ordinary house. In this house they had lived as common people.

Then let’s look at the house.

There were some rare unusual stones on the ground.

The house was divided by two parts according to Yin-Yan philosophy as like ordinary other house.
It was very sorry that I could not take the photos of women’s place due to limited time.
I need to visit the Garden once more to take the pics of the women’s place

As leaving king’s private house, the various thought on the past came out from my mind.

P1210852.JPG

The name of the gate was 'may long pleasure'.

Final course was the Juniper tree. The age of the tree seemed like more than 1000 years.
The tree was bent down, so I could not take the whole scene of the tree with ordinary lens.
I used wide angle lens.

It is said that I must have visited the Garden each season to enjoy and understand the beauty enough.

In Sprig, I will visit and post once more

Thank you for reading.

Incredible pictures. Thanks for the historical perspective.

It symbolize the traditional architecture of that time.

Indeed. This is one of the best traditional stuff to have learnt from.

Hello, I need someone to help me

I am more amenable to making things that contain information, though that is not necessarily too meaningful ...!

What I have noticed about the palace besides it beauty is how high is the main building from the ground thus making the rooms neat because it is elevated more from the ground level.

The juniper tree indeed tell tales of its long past because of its appearance. @slowwalker

different season , different sceneries, look forward to seeing the beauty of spring.

You triggered my interest in South Korean historical building and places. I got to visit soon. Many thanks.

Korea is a nice place to look around.
problem is you need a guide who has a few knowledge on history

Beautiful pictures, I will be sure to add to to my list of place to visit. I think the age of the tree is amazing, and that it is still alive and doing relatively well!

It's cool

You visit some fascinating places. Thank you for sharing your journeys.

UPVOTED

Thank you so much

Wow, the Juniper tree looks scary. The Juniper tree reminds of the tree from the movie "The Poltergeist". I kind of expect it to go absolutely crazy at any second. Call me chicken, but I wouldn't go anywhere near that tree. Black people don't go near suspicious trees. lol. This post was very informative. I definitely learned something new. It's so interesting to me how the historians recorded everything the king said. Thank you for this cool post.

look like very good

I guess even a King needs privacy sometimes

Hey slowwalker,

I didn't know about it and it is first time after a very long period that I am searching something on google after reading it on steemit. Yes, I must say King had to come up with something like this otherwise imagine man how would life had been there.

It's pretty amazing a tree can survive that long xD Although it looks like it had a rough thousands of year if you look at how deformed it is :P

Enjoyed your post ;) keepit up!

So better be a tree than a king

Thank you for comment
Time changes everything

Thanks for taking us on a tour inside the palace @slowwalker. It's wise of the King to separate his personal life from his Royal duties. I imagine it can be quite disconcerting to always be in Royal character everytime and very tiresome to always choose his words because of the court historian.

yes, it must be.
To be a king in choson dyanasty seemed a hard work

Que gran historia. Gracias por compartir, siento alivio al saber que por fin pudo alejar a los historiadores y vivir una vida tranquila. Excelentes fotografías.

lol
Thank you
life with tranquillity is a final dream of men

Its really amazing, its completely traditional look of architecture.

Wow such a great travel destinatiin. I really like it

Korea is one of the countries in Southeast Asia that I would love to go in the future. I love the content of your post. It's like you are touring me around the entire palace. I followed you since you will be writing of this again in Spring. I am looking forward to read that. Thankies! By the way, what do the weird looking stones symbolize?

thank you for comment
they seemed to collect those stones for looking good.
I don't think there is any meaning.

I see! They are just ornaments but they are quite unique. I think it's difficult to find those kinds of rocks these days.

Nice pictures thanks for sharing
