¡Good evening, fellow Steemians! Today I´m going to temporarily leave the gaming subject in order to share with you guys something that left me speechless. During the December holidays I travelled to Colombia, and in Medellín I could witness a beautiful event, called “Los Alumbrados”: A gorgeous set of massive lighting decorations for Christmas, placed around the city.
Los Alumbrados are sponsored by EPM (Empresas Públicas de Medellín), Institution in charge of supplying electricity, water and natural gas to the city. EPM have been making Los Alumbrados possible for 50 years in a row, with just one exception: In 1992, due to a massive drought that affected the whole country, the electricity levels were critically low, and EPM was forced to make decorations using a lot of different materials, but without using electricity at all.
Without any more preambles, I want to share this pictures with you. They were all taken by myself, using a Sony CyberShot DSC – W610 digital camera. I hope you love them as much as I do. ¡Please share your impressions with me!
¡parts 2 and 3 coming soon!
