You gotta love New Orleans, It’s a party all the time. We kicked off our trip with a tour of Mardi Gra World. They have a free shuttle and it really gets you in the spirit. Beads are the ticket for the tour and there are floats and papier-mâché figures everywhere.

We thought there was just going to be statues sitting around, but this is an actual working shop and these are the folks that design and build the floats for the Mardi Gras Krewes that put on the parades, we found out there is more than one parade and the Mardi Gras season can last from 1 to 2 months, Hurray for Mardi Gras.
This was a fantastic way to start the vacay. And you can get some free King Cake, which is a cinnamon roll with heavy frosting on top; A dessert fit for a King.
Or a Fool
We saw Drew Brees,
the Little Mermaid,
and of course an imaginary unicorn.
Oh Yeah, Elvis is still alive.
Did I not take a picture of the robot, Ah Dang! They have this awesome cool robot that prints 3-D models, and these folks are legit, they even make the Chic-Fil-A cows.
We had a great time and this was well worth the visit. After the tour, we had the shuttle driver drop us off at Mother’s so that we could some authentic “N’awlins” style cooking, I got a Shrimp PoBoy, the fam had red beans and rice, and of course you could have got’n jambalaya.
We finished off the first day with a trip to the store and buying trinkets and of course a glimpse up the Mississippi at the river boats.
The rest of the trip will include a trip around the French Quarter, a stroll down Bourbon Street and a journey back in time at the World War Museum.
Have a great one Ya’ll
Cheers,
Phil
