Several weeks ago I recall seeing a post about a woman who watched bodies get cremated in the open near the Bagmati River in Nepal. Turns out there was something much more shocking than just dead bodies by the river. In the nearby temples live the friendly neighborhood cannibals, sadhus of the Aghori sect of Hinduism. You can meet them easily if you go to Hindu cremation sites in Northern India or Nepal. They're actually rather nice, apart from the whole desecrating the dead thing. Just don't shake their hands or accept food from them, because it could very well be literal feces.
Aghoris revel in everything taboo and believe that true godliness lies in seeking the purity in the filthiest. Have you seen the movie Pink Flamingos? Well, it's like that but more extreme. Divine is nothing compared to these guys.
The kind of things they indulge in sound absolutely unbelievable to western ears. You see, they hang out at cremation sites and graveyards for a reason. When you first meet them you might assume they are holy men who are there to pray for the dead, but that is not the case. No, not at all. You see, they use dead bodies in their religious practices. Here are a few things they use dead bodies for: They make bowls out of human skulls, they eat rotten human flesh, they meditate while sitting on corpses and they rub the ashes of the deceased all over their bodies. There are also rumors of necrophilia and graveyard orgies with menstruating women, but I have yet to find a good source on this. They also drink urine, eat feces, run around naked, smoke marijuana, practice animal sacrifice and do black magic.
If you want to learn more about them, here are a few good documentaries:

I was dumbfounded when I learned about these people, so I figured I would share! What do you think?
Wow. Buddhists meditate in graveyards as a way of confronting the fear of death, but these people are taking it to a whole other level.
Odd truly, I cannot imagine living like this... but I accept that the experience of life takes many forms... so to each their own.
Their religious practices could lead to them getting sick, though. I wonder if they realize that eating rotten garbage could cause serious health problems.
where do you think aleister crowley got his degenerate stupidity? shocking people is a powerful way to control minds. it's not like remote control but, i wouldn't say it creates volutaryism.
