Would you go to the Dentist in Mexico?? :D

in #travel7 years ago

I think I would rather operate myself than going to this Dentist :D

This photo totally represents how REAL Mexico is. Obviously, not all the buildings look like this, but I live in Playa del Carmen for example, which is a tourist paradise, with lots of modern buildings and investments, but you definitely have to visit authentic, non-touristic places to see the big picture and have a real idea about the country.

I thook this photo in a tiny town called Río Lagartos, in the Northern part of the Yucatan Peninsula. It is a cute, but poor fishing village, where most of the people live from fishing or from the tourism. It is part of a Biosphere Reserve with a wonderful lagoon, where you can see houndreds of birds, raptiles and wonderful plants..

Beautiful friend, Mexico is a beautiful country, its culture, its people and food, you can see your happiness in every photo!

Exactly, that's so true! :)

Looks scary! Thank god it also looks closed, haha! :D

the leaking of the journey suddenly passed. :)

Just because it is in a poor neighbourhood does not mean the dentist is bad. He/she might be there because he/she wants to help the poor there you never know. I live in the U.S now and I have seen and dealt with so many hack dentists it is not funny, In Germany where I lived before living here there was never this problem. So I do not think it is about poverty but skill and from what I have hear Mexican school are in many ways a lot better then American ones.

That's true. I just found this place quite funny and scary at the same time. But I have a friend from the U.S. for example who always spends his winters here in Mexico and he always gets his teeth done here instead of going to the dentist in the U.S. He said they do a really good job here.

The first line literally made me laugh out loud 😅

Haha I know what you mean :D

Mmm that's not how mexico looks like, we have a pretty good education system :) I'm sure it was an old building and maybe they're not working there anymore

I haven't done it, but I have a friend who traveled to Mexico to get a lot of dental work done. She's an educated person who researched her options, and she was pretty satisfied. I don't know where she went, but she said the dentist had places for patients to stay while they had their procedures, recovered, etc., and it was fine. If I was facing thousands of dollars' of dental bills, I guess I'd do some research on options, but I might engage in some dental tourism.

Actually, I have a friend from the U.S. who does the same. He always goes to the dentist when he comes here coz it's much cheaper here than in the States.

I wrote about my dental experience in Mexico months ago... hope this helps out anyone who might be afraid to try a dentist in Mexico.

That's a great post, thanks for sharing :) I also have a friend from the U.S. who always goes to the dentist here instead of getting his teeth fixed in the States.
