Spain
Place of wonderful view, amazing beaches, tasty fruits and no freezing winter..
Planning a trip to Spain but don't have much time? I got your back! Just pick a place you like and if needed, go to the website I linked below description to find a place you would like to stay, book online and you're almost ready to go!
1. Gran Canaria
Small Island near Northern Africa. Good choice if you're not looking forward for spending cold winter in your country. Also wonderful place to stay for a family with newborn baby just when the main season of tourists ends. Then that small island turns into a magical calm piece of heaven in earth. Reason I included this place as an island is because Gran Canaria isn't that big of an island itself and it's not challenging at all to see most important places. Just rent a car, find a small cozy place to stay and enjoy or stay. Not from my own but from my sister's and her husband's experience I can say that it's really wonderful place out there.
Here are few hotels and camping sites (cheap and definitely worth it):
- Ecohostel: 11-25e/person per night
http://www.ecohostelcanarias.com/ - Camping site: ~12e/day for a small house or just a few euros for a tent or camping van spot.
http://campingplayadevargas.com/ - Best rated hotel: Starting from 90e per night.

2. Beach of the Cathedrals
Located In the north/west of Spain. This unique place has lot to offer no matter what weather. From blue, clear water and amazing cliffs or caves to tasty food and wonderful panoramic view in general. Recommended place for families and especially couples.
Besides that, there is one cozy place to stay. It's not the main hotel in that area, but for me it looks way better than most attracted one.
3. Balearic Islands
Glorious islands located not far from mighty Gran Canaria. Another good option for couples or families. Good weather, clean blue ocean, wonderful nature all around. Tasty foods and fresh fruits. Hotels inside this area are surprisingly cheap.
- Best option, ~30e per night: https://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g580289-d9853331-Reviews-Cala_Figuera_Apartamentos_Mar_y_Sol-Cala_Figuera_Majorca_Balearic_Islands.html
- Most luxurious for price that low available here, ~120e per night: https://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g1233772-d7757783-Reviews-Hotel_Can_Mostatxins-Alcudia_Majorca_Balearic_Islands.html
4. La Palma
Another amazing island just as Gran Canaria, but only two times smaller. But because it's smaller it doesn't mean that it has twice less stuff to offer. Icon of La Palma is nothing else, but Cumbre Vieja volcano. This place is very unique because it fits every ones wishes. If you want action, music and other exciting stuff, just come her during season. If you're more into calm, relaxing but also not less exciting activities, or just want to spend time with your family, come just after the main season.
If some of you are into astronomy or are just interested in space, you have a great chance to visit its famous observatory.
- Probably one of the best hotels around that area, starting from 40e per night: https://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g642213-d1166868-Reviews-Apartamentos_Centrocancajos-Brena_Baja_La_Palma_Canary_Islands.html
- Good price luxury hotel, around ~70-150e per night: https://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g675093-d249518-Reviews-Sol_La_Palma_Hotel_by_Melia-Puerto_Naos_La_Palma_Canary_Islands.html
5. Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park
Located in the very south of Spain. Place more popular between tourists because of its' hot weather and of its' location. It's quite far from another bigger civilization. One of the advantages here, is that beaches are amazing and not crowded at all as they are in more popular places. To get a hotel there, it will be difficult, there is only accommodations outside this National Park. But they're not that far as expected at first.
Here are good option to find a place to stay for all your needs:
Great post, @pjo! No freezing winter sounds nice:). We are currently in Barcelona and it is getting cold here at night...
Well.. Where I live it is considered warm if it's over 0°C during winter. So those 8-9°C is nothing compared to what more northern countries experience. I mean during winter it still is quite cold there, but not as cold as it is in more northern countries.
By the way, Thank You!:)
Have to save this post to read it a bit later.
Love Spain, and looks like there are interesting things to read about here. ;)

Great video and photos of the journey. It was very interesting to watch.
thanks but please don't forget Marbella, Nerja, Sevilla, Bilbao
Yes. As I mentioned, I mainly mention places more related with nature and less with cities. Because I am myself more keen on quiet and calm places.
