EXPLORING HIDDEN CAVES IN VIETNAM
On my latest Southeast Asian adventure, my last stop was Vietnam. The first city we flew into was Danang, where I had NO idea what to expect. We got to our hotel, and had no plans for the next day - we saw a brochure with some cool looking pictures (who knows if those are ever really true...), but we got excited and booked a 7am tour the next day for "Marble Mountain".
The next morning, everything went as planned and we were sitting in the tour bus with 10 other people. We arrived at this mountain and had to climb up lots of steps...and I mean ALOT - it felt like I was on the StairMaster! But, when we reached the top, there were amazing sights and lots of hidden caves to explore.
We saw a beautiful view of the city of Danang, with huge waves crashing on the beaches below and the infrastructure of the city surrounding us. Then, we began to go into different caves and each had different sculptures and statues and temples (mostly of Buddha). Some of these statues were carved out of the caves we were in, which was very hard to believe.
I'm pretty sure the brochure we booked the tour off of was not the same place as the caves we went to (typical haha!), but the adventure was more than worth it!
Hope you enjoy this post, SteemIt - more to come about Vietnam :)
