Sailing from Padre Burgos, Quezon Province into this little cave in Pagbilao, Quezon lies a beautiful white sand beach.

Voila!

The name of the beach derived from it's physical apperance and is called "Puting Buhangin at Kwebang Lampas" which means "White Sand and a Cave beyond". It is formerly owned by a Chinese businessman and called it "Lukang Beach" but now the name is different because the local Government of Pagbilao, Quezon now owns it and made it a public resort.

The sand is fine and white and the actual color of the water is like turquoise. My camera isn't good and sorry about that.
This is an inconspicuous travel destination in the country but it's beautiful.

The things that you can do here is:
  • Snorkeling
  • Trekking
  • Beach activities
  • Caving
  • Camping
  • Stargazing
  • Island-to-Island hopping - There are 2 amazing side trips nearby Puting Buhangin. The Borawan beach (where there is a beautiful beach and open cottages for rental) and Dampalitan beach where the breakwaters are so beautiful. Unfortunately, i just knew about it the next day when the motorboat driver told us. I'll be back some time.
  • Bonfiring

Traveling from Manila

Together with my nephew who is slightly older than me, (lol), we traveled from Manila to Lucena Grand Terminal in Quezon Province via bus and in a public market nearby, we bought ourselves foods for our camping trip. Our bus fare is just 219 pesos and it took us 4 hours to reach Lucena. Then we rode a mini bus from Lucena City bus terminal to Unisan for an hour and a half more.

After the mini bus, we took a tricycle with the fee of P300 heading to the registration area going to Puting buhangin at Kwebang Lampas which is located in Barangay Basiao, Padre Burgos where we paid 100 pesos each for an overnight tour, and P2,000 for the boat to send us just back and forth to the island.

When we finally reached our destination, We rented a tent for just 100 pesos each for an overnight stay. and then we took ourselves some photos and we trek before actually went to the waters.

Tips before traveling
  • Our itinerary went a little more expensive because we went our own way. However, there is an easier and cheaper itinerary going to Puting Buhangin at Kwebang lampas (via Isla Polo), check this external travel blog
  • Make sure that you'll bring enough food and drinks because the products in the mini stores in the island are more expensive than usual, like a gallon of water for shower is 50 pesos each, a little expensive because there's no freshwater nearby and they are just imported from town.
  • The natives and the caretakers aren't that hospitable enough to give you the attention, so you must have enough items for camping. Bring yourself enough drinking water as main priority.
  • Do not forget to bring an insect repellent lotion. There are mosquitoes at night.
  • It's best to go there at weekdays. Avoid going on weekends, holidays, and peak season if you're the person who seeks peace in traveling.
  • There are no rentals for necessary equipment like for example a simple snorkeling gear, and no apartelles or inns to stay as well. This is a very remote area.
  • Always bring an extra budget before you travel. There are many scalpers or people who will give you a more expensive fees to your transportation especially to the foreigners. Researching for travel blogs is key, and do not act as if you know nothing.

Great to see that we still have nice public beaches. Here in Cebu it's becoming very rare to find a nice public beach.

But there are lots in Bohol as i saw your last post! Very beautiful!

One reason why I signed up here~
