Hi Steemians!
Today is a very wonderful day and i would like to make it better with tropical flowers of Thailand 😉😉.
Not only girls love flowers, in some countries there are even whole flower cultures.
So i decided to make a post about beautiful plants that i saw during my travel and tell you little bit about that.
In Thailand, almost every houses, streets, temples, shops, hotels, cafes are decorated with the compositions of flowers. Thais even meet guests with flower garlands- it's their old tradition.
As you already know, the leading religion in Thailand is Buddhism and even it has a special place for a beautiful flower lotus.
- The Lotus in Thailand is the most revered flower of the state, which is considered a symbol of purity, spiritual growth and enlightenment.
Thais adore this flower, they associate it with the name of Buddha.
Throughout the country, you can often see the image of Buddha with the lotus in his hands- he taught people to understand the beauty and harmony of the surrounding world.
One of myths says that after the birth of Buddha, a shower of lotus flowers immediately began.
Lotus is a very beautiful flower, but most of all I enjoyed plumeria.
More precisely, it's not a flower but a tree.
- In Buddhism, plumeria (frangipani) is also associated with immortality: that is why the plumeria trees, predominantly white, are often found arround temples.
If the branch with flowers put in the water then it will keep its fresh look for a long time, and sometimes even a new flower can bloom.
Flowers can be not only white, but also red, yellow, pink and so on...
The fragrance is unbelievably beautiful, sweet, but also charmingly fresh. Citrus notes, a bit of jasmine, caramel or something else fantastically magical.
One more amazing flower that you can see everywhere in Thailand is orchid.
- Elegant orchid is considered a symbol of perfection and simplicity. Uncomplicated appearance combines the signs of elegance and refinement.
The enormous amount of these graceful flowers of different colors, sizes and shapes can be admired in the orchid garden. It is located in Nong Chun park in Pattaya and on the island of Phuket - 16,000 square meters, there is a whole farm! Here are over 20,000 species. These are not only orchids from Thailand, here are collected specimens from all over the world!
Thais even decorate food and drinks with flower of orchids.
The flowers you saw on the first photo are called bougainvillea.
- This curly bush is usually used to decorate a flower bed near hotels, shops, park areas.
- Flowers of brugmansia are also very beautiful plants, for the similarity of a flower with a musical instrument, received the name "angelic pipes".
Hibiscus is another flower that is used to decorate the house and even weddings.
- But this wonderful flower I couldn't recognize 😐😬. Maybe someone of you know its name?
These are just a few flowers from all that grow in Thailand (and there are over 20,000 species!).
All photos i made on my phone MI 5:)
Thanks for reading my post! I hope you enjoyed it 😉
Best wishes,
Olga:)
