Glad you have no issues with the drug cartels. Most of the times, like the locals told You, what is said in the news are mostly amplified, and might not be the true reflection. I'm sure there are some real dangers here (as there are most places) but they seem to be highly over exaggerated by a lot of people. It makes you dismiss most things you hear and not really know what warnings to heed and who to listen to. It's unfortunate. If people only warned you about things that they themselves were very familiar with, we'd be in a much better position to protect ourselves from any dangers.
