Dear Steemit Fam
If you are every in Cape Town you should definitely try the free walking tour around the city. The best way to discover a city is by walking its streets, uncovering its history and mingling with the locals. Luckily Cape Town has a number of FREE walking tours to do exactly that. The one I went on below in the video is the V&A Waterfront. Which is South Africa’s most visited destination, the V&A Waterfront, is located at the heart of Cape Town’s working harbor. There is 22 landmarks in the area with rich and varied history all the way back from 1654, when Jan van Riebeeck built the first jetty as part of his mission to establish a refreshment station for the Dutch East India Company.
The guided historical walking tours give you the chance to learn the history of this place. From the early culture of the Dutch, Flemish and British colonists mixed with the Malay slaves and sailors from every corner of the globe. The tour took about 90 minute and was led by passionate volunteers who don’t get paid but are very open to being tipped. They happen 365 days a year and you don’t need to book. The guides are very well-informed, well-mannered and politically correct – which makes for an accurate understanding that will leave you feeling a better association with the Mother City.
Free walking tours Cape Town @V&A Waterfront was really informative. I never thought waterfront a mall has so much history behind it. This is my second tour with this company they are actually decent and It is free but they work on tip bases. Already planning my third tour with them in Bo Kaap!!
