Couples of days into my trip we the sun was shining so we thought we would have a family day at Ratanga Junction Theme Park (AKA Wildest Place in South Africa) one of the most popular attractions in Cape Town.
When entering Ratanga Junction Theme Park you are entering a different world. This incredible attraction in Cape Town cost approximately 300 million Rand to build, but when it opened its doors in 1998 it was worth every cent. The park is not open all year round because it would be expense to maintain the running of the park. It only opens during the school holidays and over the December and January holiday period.
As soon as we came in Babysitting duty stared the kids wanted to get there face painted. I know I am 25 but I saw wanted to get it done too but didn’t want to disguise my face from you guys on my second vlog! There was a cool radio station performing at the park, so my nephew decided to go over to ask for Michael Jackson Thriller and Watch Me by silent… I must say he has got the good taste in music!
It is mostly the rides that attract visitors to Ratanga Junction, and here there is something for everyone to enjoy. The most popular rides include the terrifying Cobra. Standing at a height of 32 meters, with twists and turns that topple your stomach and at speeds of close to 100 kilometers an hour, the Cobra is only for the ultimate adrenalin junkies so of course, I had to do it. This is the only ride I have ever been that has a live exhibition of snakes on the queues area but luckily the park was empty so there wasn’t a queue just took our time looking at all the dangerous snakes.
