My hometown in Canada would always erase and paint over graffiti. Not sure if this is a mural or graffiti, but in the end, graffiti doesn't have to be all bad. I remember in one city, places hired professional graffiti artists to paint where they were constantly being tagged.

In the end it prevented future ugly graffiti

there are more and more places where graffiti artists are allowed to paint in public spaces! and that's great! prefer that than ugly grey walls!
