Famous temples in Korea #1 'Hyangiram'

location: Republic of Korea Jeollanam-do Yeosu-si Dolsan-eup Yullim-ri
全羅南道 麗水市 突山邑 栗林里

It is said to have been built by monk ‘Wonhyo’ (644 years) (King Seonduk 13).
Because it is facing the sea, it is named 'hyangiram'.
I went up hard by the aftereffects of mountain climbing.

If you go up to a place other than the stairway, you have to pass through the gaps shown in the picture.
It is located on the middle of 'Geumo Mountain'.
In the sky, the shape of the mountain resembles a turtle.
There seems to be a lot of turtle stones in the temple.

These are things I did not notice when I visited in spring.

People put a coin on the wall.
There are as many wishes as there are a lot of people.

Board ‘Sahasrabhuja Kannon’

The wide sea is spread out as you turn around the back of the courtyard.

There are coins bearing wishes on the backs of bronze and turtle stones.

I could not afford a cup of tea in that resting place.

If you go to Hyangilam, I recommend you to put your favorite tea in a thermos.

The eaves of the Sahasrabhuja Kannon, the trees with the colored leaves and the sea make a wonderful landscape.

The old tree branches are vigorously stretched toward the sea.

If camellia blooms, it will also show beautiful scenery.

I wonder what monk Wonhyo thought in this hermitage.
