Hello dear steemians. I this blog post I bring to you a town 5 miles away from the city center of Barcelona Plaza Catalunya.
The territory where the district is located was formerly made up of swamps, lagoons and fields of grazing and cultivation. In the 18th century, Indian meadows began to be installed to whiten and dry the cotton fabrics and a process of industrialization was initiated which, in the first third of the 19th century, accelerated drastically. Thus, some factories in Barcelona, attracted by the low prices of land, the abundance of water and, since 1848, the passage of the railway, move to the area. The lagoons and grazing fields will be replaced by Indian stamping centers and, later, spinning and weaving factories. From the 1870s, Poblenou became one of the largest industrial concentrations in the country to the point of being popularly known as the "Manchester Catalan."
When I first moved to Barcelona 6 years ago, I went to live in the city center. In a beatiful area called Santa Caterina y La Ribera also El Born. Check out my previous blog: https://steemit.com/blog/@nanyhasbunn/walking-in-born-and-having-fun-in-all-the-shops-and-food-stops-i-find-in-the-way
I loved it, but after some months I decide to move to Poblenou for several reasons, for example, the beach and the quiet streets. I love tourists and how the city attracts international influence. The main reason for me moving far from the city center was to experience Barcelona life from another perspective. I wanted to disconnect and feel more like a local .

I love the beach so me and my husband @gabrielceo decided to move to Barceloneta which is Barcelonas famous beach , although we were reservations a flat already we changed our minds and found an apartment in Poblenou. After five years living in Poblenou I can see that is becoming very famous and on high demand. Its because you can live in a loft close to the beach ?
One of the best tapas and hang out bar for any casual occasion is the Blu Bar which we present to you. Blu Bar is located in Rambla de Poblenou. This local used to be a photography studio back in the days in the 70s, some ten years ago it started to operate as a coffee bar and restaurant. It gets crowded mostly at night because it gives good ambiance with great music. In the menu I recommend the pizza because the owners are Italian. The menu includes appetisers such as patatas bravas, nachos with guacamole, chicken wings, hummus and focaccia.
Main dishes include Mexican tacos, fresh salads, gourmet sandwiches, pizzas and desserts. On Fridays and Saturdays it gets really crowded with fun people who love to come here to chill out and have a drink and good food. Sundays is the classic day to come and enjoy a good vermouth with some olives and an appetiser.
Try a good old fashioned sangria with wine or cava, or enjoy a delicious national beer Estrella, or try the Turia Tostada from Valencia and Punk Ipa from Scotland.
