In 1835, William Wordsworth inspired travel to the place through his guide. He stated that those who would like to travel on the lake should be worthy of its beauty.
He stated that his guide was prepared for the minds of persons of taste and feelings for the landscape. Those people who might be inclined to sightsee the District of the lake with that degree of responsiveness to which its attractiveness may fairly lay claim. The place now boasts the highest concentration of Michelin stars outside of London.
