In this article, I wanted to share with you my observations about Greenwich, one of the places that attracted my attention during my visit to London. I hope that will be useful.
This was the first place we stopped in on our London visit. I heard the name Greenwich for the first time when I was in middle school. After that, it was almost engraved in my mind as a place that I heard constantly, including the University. I never even imagined that I would come here one day.
Greenwich is a town in London and its distance from the center is quite close. The place where the symbolic prime meridian passes is also an observatory on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The observatory was dazzling with its historical texture. Here, there was a historical clock and the measurement units used in the past were located under it. Since the prime meridian was symbolic, an iron line was created for the visitors to show the prime meridian. Thus, by seeing the prime meridian, which I had trouble comprehending for years, I learned it in a way that I would never forget.
I can say that the Greenwich Observatory is a must-visit place for those coming to London. Its historical texture and its lush green park created an incredible atmosphere.
