RE: ADSactly Travel - Finding Peace in Hiroshima

in #travel7 years ago

Great write-up! It is indeed a gripping experience. What touched me the most were the drawings from all the children that survived the initial blast, to see through their eyes the burnt and dead bodies.

But Hiroshima has now positioned itself as a the city of peace. I like the initiative by the Major of Hiroshima, where he sends an official protest letter to the head of the state whenever a country performs a new nuclear test.

btw. For the atomic bomb dome, it should be "genbaku domu" in Japanese.

Though the Peace Memorial in Hiroshima is quite touching, I didn't visit there this trip. This is the museum in the Hiroshima Castle about the city's history and fine arts. Thanks for coming by and hope you have a superb week!
