BONDI BEACH, THE FABULOUS BEACH OF SYDNEY!

in #travel7 years ago (edited)

Welcome my dear Steemian friends to SYDNEY

Bondi Beach is undoubtedly one of the most famous of Sydney but also of all Australia! This beach is nearly a kilometer long on many postcards and in many films. It has to be said that its reputation goes far beyond the Australian borders and tens of thousands of people come to bathe and refuel each year.

Its fine sand and rollers for surfing are so popular that Bondi Beach is Sydney's busiest beach. And it hosts many events throughout the year. It was even added to the list of Australian national heritage in 2008.
SO, IF YOU GO TO SYDNEY, YOU MUST ABSOLUTELY TAKE A LARGE BOWL OF FRESH AIR IN BONDI BEACH!
Bondi Beach is approximately 10 km from downtown Sydney and is easy to reach by car or public transport. Take the train to Bondi Junction then a bus (381 or 382) to get to the beach. You can also take bus 380 directly to the city center at "Circular Quay" but the journey may be a little longer. But then, you just have to put your fingers fanning on the sand and live life to the Australian ...
You can stroll in the fine sand, bathe yourself by paying attention to the rollers, you try to surf or even do some shopping. The main street along the waterfront is called the Campbell Parade and there is a wide selection of fashion and surf shops, as well as many cafes and bars. A popular place during the day but even more in the evening!
And for the record, know that "Bondi" is a word meaning "the sound of the water breaking on the rocks" and the Aborigines of Bondi were called "Eora". It was not until much later, in the 20th century, that Bondi Beach turned into a working-class neighborhood, with many immigrants from New Zealand. Today it is a multicultural neighborhood with only 47% of Australian-born residents. A dense population and a rather higher class (the prices are relatively high in this district).

I thank the airline Qatar Airways, as well as VisitNSW for giving me the opportunity to discover Sydney. This was a short overview of the city and I would have loved to learn and see more about the city. But one thing is for sure, I now want to travel the rest of Australia.
