We were so excited for Canada day in Vancouver. Google had told us Vancouver was one of the best cities to do Canada day. So once we planned our day we hopped on the sky train and went to our first destination.

Granville island

Granville island is a small island just south of downtown Vancouver. It had a ton of awesome Canada day events and lots of people. There was lobster, a very large farmers market, live music from a jazz festival and aborginal parades.

After exploring a bit and eating we left Granville island. And journeyed to Canada place.

So unfortunately we didnt take any photos at Canada place because it was packed!! We did get to see Jackie Chan though. He said happy Canada day and sang we are the world. This photo you can see Canada place in the background.

After another meal we headed over to Stanley park. (poutine again)

At Stanley park we setup shop to wait for the fireworks. We sat next a big canon which we later learned is called the 9 o'clock gun because it goes off every night at 9 to the surpise of our ears.
