The High Line is a picturesque, trendy park in lower west Manhattan.
The walkway stretches 1.45 miles, elevated about one story over the streets, reconstructed from the historic freight rail line. The architecture and landscaping are phenomenal.
They have comfortable places to sit and talk, or read, throughout much of the park, sometimes under trees for shade. Plus some vendors like ice cream. The High Line feels family-friendly, and good for both locals and tourists.
As you can see, my usual role while adventuring with my wife is taking some pics... :)
