Yes, it's awesome to have a lifestyle business... but

A lifestyle business allows you to work from anywhere.

However, if we're not putting in the time to actually do the work those great location independent businesses won't provide the independent lifestyle we all want.

If you're just starting, it's of upmost importance to plan ahead in small steps. If you're still working, don't jump ship straight away. Make sure you have enough saving to last 12 months, so you don't stress out about living expenses while building your location independent business.

As with everything, the beginning is aways hard. There will be set backs and disappointments but if you just put one foot in front of the other and take one baby step at a time, you will see progress.

Don't forget that your best asset is time.

Everything else follows.

Routines work great and you need to find you own rhythm. Find your best performance times and do the majority of the work then.

If you're like me, early morning are the most creative time. For others it can in the afternoon or late at night. Whenever it is for you, make sure you utilise your best performing timeframes to do your most important work.

And follow those three rules:

  • Be prepared to invest in yourself and your business
Whether it's a coach, mentor, a course or a workshop, you will need to be prepared to invest time and money to be the success you want to be. The way do business, the way we market and build relationships change all the time. New principles, strategies and technologies are surfacing every day and if you're not on the cutting edge, you will be left behind.
  • Hold yourself accountable
No more blaming others. Take responsibility for all your failures and successes. And trust me, there will be a lot of failures, before you start crushing it. But that's part of life, we learn from our mistakes, adjust and make things better.
  • Be persistent and focused
Make sure that every day you do activities that bring you closer to your goal. What if you cut out some unproductive activities and/or find help with domestic chores. Imagine how much more you can achieve with an extra 10 hours per week working on your venture rather than binge watching Netflix or folding laundry.

And the last thing you need is a restful sleep. I cannot stress enough how important sleep is. It restores your energy, your body and your mind. You are able to process tasks better with a fresh mind.
