Hey hey,
I just got stuck on mostmini airport ever , in Alesund, Norway, and will be stuck here for at least 6h, so... time to be creative about spending my time here :)
And as I am one of those people who think that when s**t like this happen, we shouldn't just go through it and pray it passes as fast as possible ("survive" :P), but instead we should think how to use that time to make our day even better - or at least more useful - than it would have been otherwise ("thrive"). So here are some ideas to select from, depending on your preferences and circumstances... :)
Write
Perhaps time for new Steemit article (if internet allows)? Or for a bit of journaling and offloading thoughts on the page?Read
Great time to catch up on some reading - being it book or steemit articles or newspapers :)Geek (if you have laptop on you)
Time for emails. Or to finally time to sort out some of s**t on you laptop (if you have it with you) that you are postoning forever :)Plan
What a great moment (especially if you don't have a proper internet :P) to think of the plans for the following week, or a month, or even a life :D Getting precious moments offline in this busy days it is quite a privilege and a great time to take a bit of perspective on our lives - so why not using it?Get in touch - both with old and new friends
Think who are your friends who you haven't spoke in a while and you would like to and connect - email, whatsap, call them... Or, if you are in the social mood, strike a conversation with someone you like in that waiting room. You might learn something new, and you might raise both of your moods if it ends up a nice conversation.Move. Stretch. Or even exercise.
Even with all the geeking and writing, don't get stuck in your chair. Move your body. Go for a walk every now and then. Stretch. If you are creative enough to find some way to exercise, that is even better :)Do whatever makes you happy in this moment
Or use the time to reflect on what are the things that would make you happy in the following days and think and plan how to get more of those in your plans :) Follow the feeling ;)Treat yourself something nice
This might be a loong day. And you have every reason to be annoyed or tired or grumpy. So, that might be a great moment to treat yourself with something - perhaps new sweet headphones that you have been checking out for a while, or a nice chocolate or latter. Splur a little bit if it will make your day happier. And you might even get it covered from delayed-flight-voucher.Practice mindfulness
Observe room and people around you. Meditate. Notice the sounds, smells. Practice shifting between being person in your shoes (or someone else's shoes) and being an impartial observer. Train your mind.
Any ideas on what other useful things to do while stuck on the airport? Would love to hear them :)
