Dear friend,
Day two of our trip was probably my most treasured day. 1.We wore beautiful traditional kimonos 2.I didn't charged my camera so I was focused on the actual scenery in front of me.Funny how technology changed our lives that sometimes we use lens to see the world instead of our own eyes. April is the month of sakura bloom. It was incredibly hard to rent kimono.I sent at least 5 E-mails. Luckily, I found a place called Sakura Photo Studio. The ladies there was so nice and they even compliments us with their limited Cantonese which was funny. They said "ho leng,ho leng" meaning very pretty.

After getting dressed, we went to Tokyo sky tree by foot which was not a good decision. Those shoes they provided were not meant for walking! It took us at least an hour to walk there simply for the famous grilled eel over rice. The guide book highly recommended it and the dish itself holds 200 years history. Anyway, we were sold by the book.To be honest, it was a disappointment. The meal was so expensive because of the location in Sky tree. Then, we walked back to the Kaminarimon to take pictures and look for souvenirs.I bought so postcards of kimono girls and some letter paper with envelopes. One of the biggest goal of this Japan trip was sakura. We were so grateful for some last cherry blossom waited for us and it was so beautiful. I still dream about standing under those tiny flowers wearing that cream yellow kimono.Feeling very blessed and contented that we had a chance to experience that.

Hope you like this post! Leave a comment if you like sakura/cherry blossom!🌸🙂

beautiful pictures, dying to expereince sakura season in Japan.
Thank you @aburmeseabroad, I feel like Japan is always wonderful and Sakura was like a cherry on top that made it even more magical.😀
I really enjoyed this post! I've been to Japanese a couple of times and absolutely loved it. One of my favorite place in the world to visit. How much was the eel that you tried? I tried a famous one in Fukuoka as well and it was soooo delicious but extremely expensive too!
You all look beautiful in your Kimonos!
Thank you so much for your kind comment!I think the eel was about 300HKD which is about 40USD. But maybe it is due to our high expectation that we were disappointed that the food doesn't give us a wow effect. I've only been to Tokyo and I'd love to visit other parts of Japan. How was Fukuoka? I love following your japan guide, very informative and fun to read. 🙂
I think what you were reading was a resteem of a Japan guide, but thanks haha. I like reading it too! I love Japan so much! 40usd sounds about right. It's about 5,000yen for eel from what I remember. Very expensive but totally worth it in my opinion, as you can't get it cooked and served that way anywhere else.
Fukuoka is one of my favourite cities for food! Almost anywhere you go the food is great! Tokyo food is good too but Fukuoka takes you to a whole new level and seafood taste alot fresher in comparison.
Also the people very different there, more open and fashionable in a sense haha. But all in all every city in Japan has their own special something.
Oh, I didn't realize you resteemed that, haha! But anyway, great content! Thanks for the tip😉I will be sure to put Fukuoka on my travel list now. I am a huge fan of seafood! I totally agree, even within Tokyo, I feel like there's so much diversity within that it feels like stepping into another world. haha! My favorite would probably be Harajuku in Tokyo. It's very hustling bustling and there are so many fun activities there. The whole area is so vibrant!
Haha it doesn't matter, hard to tell at times when you're clicking everywhere and reading stuff :) YES!!! seafood is awesome! I can just keep eating and eating and eating. I think Japan in general is like stepping into another planet lol. I LOVE Harajuku! and I wanted to go to a maid cafe because I knew it would awkward and cute experience.
So I just had lunch and decided to go for a stroll, went into a shopping complex and kept stopping at random levels on the lift. Each level was great, so many anime, gamings, action figures etc etc... lots of stores on each level. On the last one, the lift door opened and this cute little Japanese girl welcomed me "irrashaimasei...." I accidentally walked into a maid cafe, with a full stomach. I couldn't just walk back out or enter another store, didn't want to be rude. Instead I walked in, she sat me down at a table alone, showed me the menu and I told her I wasn't hungry so she gave me a drink menu, and order the most expensive soda I've ever drank. Comes with cute girls dressed in maid outfit, singing and clapping, bunny ears on my head, and a polaroid picture.
Fun times!
Japan is really full of surprises and adventures!😄
