Skiing in the Alps #1 - Wengen

in #travel8 years ago (edited)

Hi, I had the luck over the past years to go on many skiing vacations in the Alps.
In my first post regarding this topic, I want to show you the beautiful destination Wengen in the Bernese Oberland (Swiss Alps).
Located near the Jungfraujoch you have the great panorama of the mountains Jungfrau, Mönchen, and Eiger.
Further, it is a great place to go skiing with the legendary Lauberhornabfahrt (Lauberhorn ski race) of the ski world cup and plenty of great other slopes surrounded by the magnificent mountain massive.

The Hotel Bellevue des Alpes is one the best hotels I stayed in the Alpes mainly due to its unique location on an altitude of 2,061 m (6,762 ft) and the view on the Eiger mountain. Additionally, it as traditional of a Swiss hotel as you could imagine.
For skiing, it is also very cool that you can directly start your day without being in ski lifts and lines for an hour.

The Eiger mountain which is famous among alpine climbers for its north face as may know about the Eigerwand or Nordwand (German: Eiger-Nordwand).

Not the best shot. But one part of the iconic Lauberhornabfahrt which I enjoyed a few times during my visit there.

I hope you liked my post and I will definitely share some more of my alpine experiences.
In the end, I can really recommend Wengen to you regardless of whether you go skiing or not.
